Well Far Guy and I had to play Doctor as no one returned the lab results to us as they were supposed to. So what do you do…omit a dose of rat poison… or guess?? Well we guessed that the dose would be the same as the past two days. ( I wonder if the lab will ever call?) Good Golly I waited all afternoon to get the results…but I did get the kitchen disinfected again and the downstairs bathroom cleaned. Far Guy had a nap and so did Chance.
Our weather was really cold –22F or –30C eh! Monday morning. I tried to stave off the brisk mailbox walk as long as I could until the Border Collie could not stand it anymore and barked at me…he never barks. Far Guy got lots of get well cards in the mail! I fed the little Redpolls more Niger Thistle seed they are really hungry.
I did some laundry and then fixed Adobo chicken, baked potato and corn for supper. I fell asleep during the Evening News…so I have no idea what is happening out there, nor do I care very much.
Chance not cooperating for a photo.
You are amazing! I don't know how you are managing to do everything that is required for FG. No surprises that you fell asleep during the news? The world will still spin if you don't watch the news. Please look after yourself too.
ReplyDeleteWould a call to the lab have helped? I would have hounded them, or someone, until I knew the results of the blood draw. Blood thinners are dangerous things. You will be able to be more comfortable with a standard daily dose when a few more readings have come back normal. Until then please get verbal confirmation about the blood draw results, no matter what you've got to do to get it. I'm thinking of you and sending healing thoughts that soon all this will be behind you both. You're doing a great job... keep it up... and take care of YOU too. *hugs* Blessings~ Andrea xxx
ReplyDeleteThe lab called a few minutes ago, they close at 4:30 PM on weekdays and they did not get the results of the blood test until this morning...and they have no idea why? They said it was a good thing I didn't have him skip a dose, and they increased his dosage for the next few days :)
DeleteNaps are good, especially given everything you guys have been dealing with lately.
ReplyDeleteDo what you can, and leave the rest!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby has his prostate removed and it was the worst caregiver ever! We're still driving 90 km into the city for treatments (they didn't get it all) and you can prioritize your crises!
I think a call to the Lab supervisor is in order. Blood thinner drugs are nothing to mess with and their in-eptness (in not calling you) is in excusable. Glad you were able to take a nap. Sending healing thoughts your way and praying for you both everyday.
ReplyDeleteSounds like all three for you are tired of this winter and all that has gone with it. When does your weather start warming up a bit? Two weeks??
ReplyDeleteToday is above zero!! :)
DeleteI don't offer Niger seed, so I don't have Redpolls but we are being mobbed by Pine Siskins, which are eating mass quantities of sunflower seeds. It is indeed very frustrating waiting for follow-up calls from medical folk. Enjoy those naps. You need to take care of you too...
ReplyDeleteSounds like Chance is keeping you on your toes. He knows a walk is just what you both need from time to time. Waiting for results is frustrating especially when you have to adjust medication based on the numbers. Certainly happy that Far Guy has avoided another stay at the hospital.
ReplyDeleteHope FG and you get all better soon!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been keeping up as I should, so I just did some back reading on your events. My goodness, what a time you've been having. I'm glad Far Guy is back home.
ReplyDeleteCommunication on health matters is crucial and should not be missed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a rough Winter it's been! Sure hope things get better fast. Sending more Prayers to you! Sharon
ReplyDeleteI stopped listening or watching the new two years ago...I don't miss it. I hate waiting for things like that...and then they don't call. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
ReplyDeleteNaps are good. Sleep is good. As long as you are close by you know you won't miss anything with FarGuy--and I'm sure Chance is always close by--LOL! Waiting on phone calls is so annoying. Yup--have to just keep on with business as usual until you hear otherwise. Supposed to be above freezing for one day tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteIts a shame that the lab isn't more cooperative as you both are going through so much, very upsetting I must say . Hubs and I have had a few inconsiderate lumps like this and we both gave them what for and told them to have more consideration and compassion for their patients who are going through tuff times, well they definitely bucked up and changed their tune from then on . I hope they smarten up for you and help more then add more stress . Our weather has warmed up a bit up to + 5 eh and the sun has been shining here. I Thanks for sharing hope all gets better for you both . Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteI wonder what it was that delayed the results for so long. And you made the right decision. Seems FG's guardian angels are busy keeping things in line. :-)
ReplyDeleteIs Chance getting a little frustrated with the situation? Maybe if he could understand how frustrating it is for his humans he wouldn't bark at you. Poor Chance. Poor FG and FS too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you took a snooze during the news. You didn't miss anything.
ReplyDeleteThe recorded message for my RA doctor states that they will get back to you within 24-72 hours! Really...why do all the information ads tell you to "notify your doctor right away if you have any of these symptoms"....it's been 3 days for one doctor and no answer back from the other one. Do these doctors even know this is going on?
ReplyDeleteYou are truly amazing getting so much done. Worry must energize you! LOL! I hate to tell you how warm it was here today....hint...75! But tomorrow 44 and rain. You deserve a day like that. If I could I would mail it to you!
