My adventure

About six weeks ago my niece Toots gave birth to a much awaited baby boy named Ray.  She and her husband live a little more than an hour away.  I had a gift for the baby and wanted to deliver it before he out grew it and before the weather and the roads got bad.  They also live about ten miles from a second hand shop that usually has old photos.

Some of the roads near one of the lakes had icy curves but other than that it was a nice drive.

I enjoyed seeing their new home, meeting the dogs, having a good visit with Toots and of course meeting baby Ray.  I got to hold him for a good long time. Ray is my sister Julie’s grandson.

His little outfit says Hero and he had a golden cape attached to the back.

I finally irritated him enough taking his photo that he woke up!   He is a much loved little boy.

It seems I picked a really good day to be gone. The next day we had our third snow.

2 inches of snow

We have 2+ inches of snow on the ground. I guess we are beginning our six months of winter.

So I had a good adventure… stopping to take photos whenever I wanted,  visiting at a second hand shop where I am known as “the old picture lady,” meeting baby Ray and I topped off the day by getting back to town just in time for my oil change appointment.  Far Guy and Chance did just fine by themselves for the day.

What a cutie that little boy is! We are getting our first snows here in Minneapolis. too, but so far it has melted as it fell. One of these days, however!

He is such a cute little boy. Glad you had a fun day. But it sure is cold and blustery.

What a perfect day to go--in-between snowfalls. Sounds like a wonderful, productive day and you got in some new baby time, too. :) :)

Sweet baby boy! We have not had a little baby to hold in a long time.
Great grands are too young so guess that's it for us.
Glad you had a nice day out.

I am so glad that you got your trip in before the snow set in. What a darling baby! I am heading out to California to see our Grandbaby tomorrow. I can't wait!

We had heavy rain all day; around 4 in the afternoon it turned to snow and we're all oohing and aahing while peering out the window. It lasted about an hour. We went downtown and passed a tire shop where panicky people were lining up for snow tires.

What a cutie and I love the hero shirt with it's own cape. Do they make those in adult sizes?

Very nice to see baby Ray's photos and glad you got in your visit and oil change before the bad weather! As I am commenting we have not had any really cold weather here in Nashua, NH and so I am a little envious of your snow.
