Puzzling

Have you ever put an entire brand new out of the plastic covered box puzzle together and had an extra piece?

We did at Christmas time.  If it was part of someone elses puzzle I bet they were disappointed.  It must have been a mix up in the puzzle factory.

Extra piece

Jen is pointing out the extra piece.

Extra piece

We finished it on Christmas Eve, the next morning when it was time to put it away…

Andy holding the puzzle

Someone had to see if holding up a puzzle was possible…it was.

I like the picture on that puzzle.

That was a fun puzzle for Christmas. And nope, never an extra piece. We have had a missing piece from a sealed box, but we suspect the cat. Never did find where she hauled it off to, though, so maybe it really was missing.

Can't say that that has ever happened to me. But is does explain where my missing piece went. Very nice picture.

I worked a brand new puzzle last fall and it was missing a piece. Grrr!

I love that pretty puzzle and it is definitely puzzling about that extra piece! Would drive me crazy to have a piece missing like what happened to someone! :-)

That one is a keeper! I'd frame it and put it up at Christmas as part of your decorations. Have you ever framed any? I have one that hangs in my bedroom but there are more in my closet! LOL! I love working on jigsaw puzzles. when I was young my Mother and I did them together. I still have the card table we used to work them on too!

Ohhh, it looks so cheerful and kind. It's great thing to spend time together!

Some have them laminated and put in a frame, as they are really enjoyable. I had a new puzzle at Super Bowl time, and it came out perfectly, all the pieces were there.

That is such a beautiful puzzle! What if it had fallen apart!! Never found an extra piece, but have had a piece missing at the end.

I enjoy jig saw puzzles but I haven't done one for a while. You give me a good idea. I've been getting warning not to go to your site until today. I'm glad to see your back.

Maybe a naughty elf did it! Having a piece missing at the end of hours of fun (work) is a puzzle assembler's nightmare!

Haven't done a puzzle in years, but I can imagine the frustration as you are getting closer to the end of the puzzle and are trying to figure out where that piece must go!

That used to be one of our winter sports when we were snowed in.

There is that missing piece from our puzzle. :-)

I had a puzzle with one piece missing once right out of the box about 30 years ago, but not an extra piece. So it probably happens once in a while. At least every few decades--LOL! ;)

It is a great puzzle. People in my past would buy a glue and put it on it and then bring it to me to frame.

Fabulous puzzle - yes, I've had some with extra pieces.

I really like the picture on that puzzle! Very nice scene. I didn't know a puzzle would hold together like that. I guess I would be too chicken to try.

We had a puzzle one time with three extra pieces but it was meant to have them. It said right on the box. It was supposed to make it harder to do.

Wow ...that is such a beautiful winter skating puzzle. Do you happen to know the name of it or the company that made it? I would like to look online to see if I could find another one. My family would love to put that one together. It's nicer than most I've seen! Thank you for your always interesting blog!
