Puzzling

We have a puzzle happening most all of the time.  Early in December we finished a vintage postcard puzzle but I did not take a photo.  Then just prior to Christmas we finished the manger scene.

A very bright and cheerful puzzle that we will possibly do again some day, it was a fun puzzle!

Book Lover Puzzle

Jen got a gift from Noah earlier this year, it was an Advent puzzle and pieces were inside each little box, so you had pieces to put together everyday.

It was a very pretty puzzle.

Sadie thinks puzzling is a good activity because you can put pieces together with one hand and pet her with the other.

We have a puzzle board that has drawers and we also have stacking sorting trays!

How many pieces?

So many pieces.  So many that it would not fit on the puzzle board.  It is a very large puzzle.

It had to be moved to the table....and it used up all the sorting trays.

It will be a work in progress for a number of days.

Far Guys infusion went well, afterwards we went to Hobby Lobby.  We had supper at a Mexican place after we picked Sadie up from Doggie Daycare...she loves going to daycare and napped in the car while we went in to eat.

I can work on the 2,000 piece puzzle and pet Sadie at the same time...multitasking:)

A Sadie Puzzle

We ordered a puzzle board, it arrived damaged...but we are using it anyway until Amazon gets it figured out.

The puzzle board is nice because we can move it off the table to play cards or work on other projects....and it has drawers.

Sadie has the same eyes as the Golden Retriever in the truck next to the large Golden.

Next up is a shell puzzle.

Puzzle

We always try to put a puzzle together at Christmas time.  Jen picked out the puzzle from the puzzle stash upstairs.

It was all about trees!

Our littlest puzzler...he knew what it was called and tried to put in several pieces!

The puzzle was finished before Jen and Andy went home.

All the pieces were there...even though I declared several times that there were several pieces that did not belong in this particular puzzle!

Puzzle and sunset

The last twenty pieces were pure torture.  We figured we would be short a piece or two but they were all there.  We are glad it is over.

Finished

Now I can do something else.  Not sure what yet.

Sun setting Jan 4

Sun setting Jan 4 2018  we still have six inches of snow at the snowstick and it remains bone chilling cold here.   Too cold to snow.

Wednesday evening as I was fixing supper I noticed movement out at the bird feeders…two bunny rabbits were cleaning up bird seed.  I knew we had one from the trail cam, so I was glad to see there were two…they will probably be fox food before long…or coyote ...or wolf.

What was for supper…I made baked salmon…Far Guy made green beans with bacon …and we had pineapple and raspberries too.  Something bright and tasty in the dead of winter.  I need to explore some new recipes.   The salmon was perfect…just baked with some sea salt and ground black pepper…coved in aluminum foil. Hard to improve on perfect.

Puzzling

Christmas Eve a puzzle went on my desk.  Jen and Andy worked really hard at it…the boys even helped find a few pieces. It is still there, we wander by and put in a few pieces here and there.  It is a very difficult puzzle.  I have been tempted to throw in the box.  I would like my desk back to normal.

Almost done. It is a very pretty puzzle but a challenge…it has funky shaped pieces…and some seem as it they go in a little wonky.  It is a time burner …  Oh well it is too cold to do much else.

Puzzling

We all like a good puzzle.  It is addicting…kinda like those pistachios that Far Guy is addicted to!

Those pieces did not fit.  Two of them.  I wrote the company an email and complained.

Less than five minutes later Handy Andy solved the dilema, one piece was not a good fit in it’s spot, he found the problem piece and fixed it which in turn made the other two pieces fit fine.

This was a very difficult puzzle, the sky and the grass drove us nuts.  Jen says that puzzles should be rated for their difficulty and this one would rate real high. We left it out on my desk for a long time…it was a very pretty puzzle.

There was some double tapping and sometimes even a triple tap!

Everyone is back home safely and the house seems empty….even Chance misses the company.

Puzzling

Have you ever put an entire brand new out of the plastic covered box puzzle together and had an extra piece?

We did at Christmas time.  If it was part of someone elses puzzle I bet they were disappointed.  It must have been a mix up in the puzzle factory.

Extra piece

Jen is pointing out the extra piece.

Extra piece

We finished it on Christmas Eve, the next morning when it was time to put it away…

Andy holding the puzzle

Someone had to see if holding up a puzzle was possible…it was.

Snow for the New Year

We woke up to snow on New Years Day.  We got about 1 1/2 inches.

Sunset Jan 1

The snow stick has something to report!  I took this photo at sunset just incase we got more snow during the day…but we didn’t.

We had a quiet day.  We worked on the puzzle.

Puzzle side view

We were certain it was missing pieces…but it wasn’t.  They were all there.

Puzzle Completed

We finished it just in time to use my desk for an ornament packing station.

We took the ornaments off the downstairs tree and packed them away.  The tree and the lights are still up…maybe tomorrow we will attack the rest of it.  The upstairs Shiny Brite tree will be up for a few more days.

I made a lovely meal of lobster and vegetables for supper.  Chance likes lobster.  There was a bit of moonshine out so in the evening Chance and I played ball outside.  Nothing worse than a bored Border Collie who lays his head in your lap and drools on your pant leg and looks up at you with big brown sad eyes.

We are both feeling better just a tad tired.  So we are being kind to ourselves and resting whenever we feel like it.  We don’t want any relapses!
