Halloween Report

We had four Trick or Treaters!  Our niece Stacey's children.

Ava the skeleton glowed in the dark.  Brooke was a girl!  Kelly was something in sports a coach maybe and then Lola a skeleton/fairy.

The report from Up North. Our great grandchildren.

A Devil Diva, a Porcupine Wild in the Woods, a Baby Bat held by Peely from Fortnite!  They carved pumpkins on Thursday night.

Peach wrote all over the front of her pumpkin with a marker.  Good job Peach!

Peach was a porcupine!

The quills were awesome.  Stir sticks attached together with duck tape and then glued to a piece of fake fur and then attached to a hooded sweatshirt found at a thrift shop with Wild in the Woods on the front!

What fun!

Happy Halloween

Our candy is ready...your guess is as good as mine if we will be eating a whole bunch of candy!

Pumpkins at Jen's last year.

Years ago the elderly neighbors would go out for trick or drink...Far Guy and I never were invited...we must have been the party poopers as we only drank sodas or coffee.  The elderly never went far...a mile maybe two to get a drink at their friends homes, but sometime they would pick up people as they went.

Thursday was Far Guys usual infusion day.  I delivered some Christmas Ornaments while I waited for him.  Gravy and Dawn's new home is coming along...it is beautiful!  Right now they are fighting sheet rock dust...and waiting for flooring and trim.

It was a rainy Thursday.  High was 45F or 7C and it was a frosty morning with a very pink sunrise.

Supper was ribs and my baby brothers maple canned carrots...Yummy!

Happy Halloween!

We are ready with a plastic pumpkin full of candy.  We may get five trick or treaters this year...maybe.  All the kids are getting older.

Here a a few photos of the good old days.

Chance hated the Halloween hat...he tolerated the scarf but that hat not so much.

In 2013 Chance could not figure out why his best friends looked funny.

All the kids in the photos have either graduated from high school or will graduate this year and next year.

Those were the days. Happy Halloween!

All the kids lined up on the step.

Fun to see them all.

Our Great Grandchildren.

As you can see it is cold outside and they are dressed for the cold.

Happy Halloween!

We are hopeful that we will get a few trick or treaters.  It snowed here yesterday...enough to make everything white.  We have great candy in individual bags! Our neighborhood kids are getting too old to trick or treat anymore. If no one shows up we will have enough candy for the entire Winter!

Sadie is hopeful that she will see some ghosts and goblins.

Halloween Report

We had two families of Trick and Treaters.   I am related to them all as they are my nieces children.

These are  Megan's children.   I offered to keep the littlest and he said "NO."  We had a very nice day...it was warm for this time of year!

We sent home candy for the oldest child who didn't come.  These are Stacey's children and her husband...and yes they are expecting a baby in January...we are very excited to meet this little boy or little girl!

Fun to see everyone who stopped by!

Maddie sent photos of our Great Grandchildren; Hey Mikey and Cee Cee.    Jen sent a video of when they stopped at her place and we got to hear them say Trick or Treat!

Hey Mikey was Sonic the Hedgehog.

Little Miss Cee Cee was a baby shark.

What a fun day for children and for old folks!

Snow and Great Grands

Yesterday we had a weather event.  Snow/sleet fell on Sunday afternoon.   Our first snow this Fall.

If I had been napping I would have missed it.   It melted quickly.

Maddie sent me photos of our Great Grands on Halloween!

Cee Cee was Pebbles from the Flintstones

Pebbles and their Dad and a Dirt Bike Rider (Hey Mikey)

We put our outside light on to welcome anyone that might wander by last night.

Happy Halloween!

We had some Trick or Treaters...we knew they were coming , they were out and about as the Main Street in town had treats from 3 -5 on Saturday.   Another group that usually come are sick ...so not sure if we will get anyone today.  Candy will be sent to the sick kiddos.

I strung a bit of clothesline rope from one tree to another and attached the treat bags with clothes pins.  It worked well last year...so we are doing a repeat!

The Hulk, a Fear Leader and a girl!  They took treats for their sister who couldn't come and for some reason I missed a photo of their other sister.

Fear Leader in action.

They were more excited about their Christmas Ornaments than anything else!

Far Guy and I spent part of the afternoon getting Christmas ornaments wrapped up and ready to go.   The count is 92 and the end is in sight.  I will finish up by Monday for sure...then I need to order mailers and get them to the Post Office in the next week or two three.   Many will be hand delivered.

My Mom wanted to cook an early Thanksgiving dinner when we could all be there.  My brothers and I went my sister did not attend.   Mom could have fed half the neighborhood she made so much food; roast pork, roast beef, roasted potatoes, parsnips and carrots, coleslaw, green beans with bacon, orange jello, raw carrots and celery, pickles, grapes, squash and tomatoes.  Then the meal was topped off with apple crisp for dessert.   It was a  good meal.

Goodbye October ...onto November.

Halloween Report 2020

Bags of treats were hung on a clothesline strung between two trees.  Yes we still have some snow.

It worked well... the kids (children of our nieces, grands of my other baby brother) still got some treats and we got to see them from the house.

Afternoon visitors...their baby brother was asleep in the vehicle.

The evening visitors

Our Great Grands showed up on Facebook.

Hey Mikey!

So much for the Socially Distanced Halloween 2020.

Blast from the past

Happy Halloween.  Lets go back seven years and revisit Halloween 2013.  The neighborhood was full of little kids...now those little kids are growing up and some have their license to drive!  Many are teenagers now!!

Chance loved Halloween...he got to see some of his favorite little people.

Going in for a kiss

What fun to see these old photos...

These little girls now have a little brother.

This little monkey now has two new brothers and a sister. It has been fun to watch them all grow up!

I asked her are you a good witch or a bad witch?

So many smiles!

Chance wore the hat and stood still enough for one photo before the hat went flying off!

Halloween visitors

We had nine trick or treat visitors!

A Hunter, Wonder Woman and a Ninja holding a Spiderman with his Teddy Bear suit on...it was cold outside!

A Skeleton and a Logger down front, then a Vampire and a Teenager and The Donald.

We planned for around 18 kids...two bags of candy were delivered earlier yesterday to one of the Infusion Nurses for her children.   That leaves us with 7 leftover bags of candy....oh my.

Perhaps I will take candy to Bingo next week!  My Dad was under the weather so we did not go to Bingo this week.

Halloween Report

We had a dozen trick or treaters…we are related to all but three of them.

Megs kids Supergirl, Darth Vader and a Storm Trooper

Staceys family Halloween

Supergirl, Doctor, Dinosaur, Logger and a Spider Girl

Anna and her cousins

Skeleton, Princess, Monkey being held by a little girl

It is a tradition to sit on the steps and get your photo taken before you get treats.

The children all asked “Where is Chance?”  Or “Where is your dog?”  We explained that Chance was old and very sick and he died.  Teddy didn’t think that was good at all, but Ava and Brooke said that was sad because their dog Ivy died too.

We have left over candy... Far Guy picked out his favorite candy for the extra…Mounds and Almond Joy.
