Last Spring I made up a box of photo and watercolor cards fronts that needed to be squared up and matted. They will eventually be cards. I like playing with paper.
I played with them half the afternoon until Far Guy said lets go get some food. I think he was hungry! It was a nice day to sit outside on the patio at our favorite Sunday lupper place.
So we had a quiet day, great lupper and a really nice nap. My other baby brother and she who sees robins first stopped by to visit, my baby brother and his bride stopped by when I was doing my PT exercises so I missed saying Hi to them. The newest PT exercise has me hurting a bit more than usual. Hopefully after a few more days it will get better. It is doing Clamshells with a resistance band.
Minnesota Weather: High 78 F or 26C Low was 54F or 13C eh!
Happy first day of September!
Far Side
I haven't seen hand made cards regularly in decades and it has been probably 7 or 8 years since I received even the oddball handmade card. It was from a nun in our church who made cards out of cereal box cardboard and glued on pieces of handcut designs from construction paper. Technically it was given to my daughters. I personally haven't received one since I was maybe in my very early teens.
ReplyDeleteHappy September to you too! I love your cards and I would love to make my own but I have too many projects as is, lol! I am praying for rain here as it is really dry and we haven't had any for ages. Good for you on your PT. I'm sure it is painful but hopefully helps in the long run. After about 3 hours my ear came back....strange but so far so good.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that FG actually got hungry, for a change. Maybe this is a sign that the worst part of all this is behind you. Thanks for sharing your lupper with your readers!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are always so pretty. The contractor was here all weekend, and finished up the shower installation except for adding the plumbing fixtures. This morning I got up to thick fog although the sun is trying to shine now.
ReplyDeleteI do clamshells but I haven't used a resistance band. Something to try.It was a nice day, very good for patio dining.
ReplyDeleteSounds like FG is feeling better and has his appetite is back! I enjoy making cards, but don't get around to making them very often. Nice to have a stash. I am also finding my new PT exercises to be painful. Sigh. Hope your PT is helpful!
ReplyDeleteKeep at the physio Therapy. It works.
ReplyDeleteNo having to cook is nice! I'm also grateful FarGuy is hungry!!! YAY!
ReplyDeleteI like playing with paper, too. Was nice to hear FarGuy was hungry!!
ReplyDeleteAnd always nice to have company to visit. :)
Your cards are beautiful and special. The receivers are blessed. I know.
ReplyDeleteFG a little hungry. Hallelujah ❤️
I think you make the best cards. I always enjoy having them, that's for sure. I'm glad to know the physcial therapy is still being done. My second round of injections didn't help much last week. We're heading out camping today until Thursday and I'm hoping things will improve while we're gone. It's been raining for three days now but tomorrow is supposed to be great. I sure hope so.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
The card fronts are lovely!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Far Guy is getting his appetite back. Having a meal on a patio, especially one I don't have to cook sounds very good.
Good luck with the physio.
You have such a talent for making beautiful cards. I know the PT is really helping and the when you finish, you will realize the big difference it makes. Keep on keeping on.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't care for the clam shells either....never have! Lately it seems if I do exercises for the lower back, my back bothers me more. I suppose it could be because I'm out of shape, but the lazy side of me says, "Oh, that exercise might be damaging your back. Better not do it!" Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteOops, I meant to comment about your cards. Playing with paper is fun and your cards look great. I think you are smart to break the process down into steps, that way you don't get tired of doing so much, and I think you could simplify what crafting materials/equipment you need to get out of wherever you store. It's been a while since I made cards, but I kept most of my paper, inks, stamps, embellishments, etc.
ReplyDeleteHow fun.
ReplyDeleteLD....I spent time with my paper cutter creating perfect squares from scrap booking paper. It is perfect for paper cranes.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so pretty.
