We had a quiet Sunday with no company. I did some laundry and some odds and ends. I had a long afternoon nap, Far Guy napped for about 15 minutes. I win the napping award!
This week we have five medical appointments, most are Up North. Good thing we have lots of "stuff" up there, so there are only a few things that we need to take along. Sadie will be happy to see us.
I started Physical Therapy last week and it tires me out in no time. I have the same Physical Therapist that I had last Fall when we were chasing the pain. This time we are working on strengthening my back muscles and lots more walking.
I think this is one of those Spidery Zinnias.
Minnesota weather: High 72F or 23C low was 56F or 14C eh! We had a couple of smoke free days...but the wildfire smoke is coming back in for a few days this week.
We had english muffins, fried eggs and raspberries for supper. I had a piece of Pork Sausage...Far Guy did not. He is still losing weight. He is eating many small meals a day, but his stomach doesn't like most foods.
Far Side
He doesn't have any weight to lose! I hope he is able to get his appetite back before too long. Thanks for the update. Praying hard.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of appointments. Travel safely.
ReplyDeleteWow! 5 appointments! You'll be tired. I hope all goes well and you have a safe trip. I have one appt. on Friday....my monthly with my favorite GP. Take care!
ReplyDeleteMy part of the world hasn't gotten all that much smoke as it mostly seems to run north of us. But out west, I saw plenty of the smoke around. Fortunately on the days we spent hiking, it wasn't an issue.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had your weather - it's hot, gross and sticky here in South Western Ontario. Bleh
ReplyDeleteYour weather would be great for walking outdoors. Maybe one day you’ll be able to enjoy nature again. Hope FG has energy soon to wood carve. He enjoys that. Safe travels to the north country.
ReplyDeleteNaps are pure gold. I will have days when I cannot continue without one. When that happens, I fall into what I call a "dead dog tired" kind of nap where even an earthquake might not wake me. I do set an alarm though. If I sleep in the recliner, I wake up quicker but if I want really deep restorative sleep, it's off to the bed I go. It sure revives my energy and makes the rest of the day better since I am not fighting to stay awake. Retirement is the best - - - other than the hard things of aging - - cuz we are able to rest when needed and do not have to keep going like we did before retirement.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Sadie pics and your time with the family. Praying for encouragement from doctors and success from PT. Very proud of you both for how hard you work to maintain and gain good health.
That's a full schedule of appointments. I hope PT helps you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations of your Nap Award, Connie. That's the best kind of award to get! *lol* Good luck with all your appointments this week. I know Sadie will bring some smiles to the days. Ohhhh.... physical therapy!! So important but so tiring. I'm glad you have the same therapist. Familiar faces always ease anxiety, for me anyway. "Breakfast for supper"....right up my alley, for sure. Prayers continue for FG & for you. Hang in there! Much love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteWe are loaded with smoke. It seems lots of mountains surrounding us are on fire. :(
ReplyDeleteStunning color!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the physical therapy.
ReplyDeleteAt one point I decided to drive myself to PT for my arm. I was so exhausted by the time I traveled the parking lot to my car, I could barely drive myself home. But it was so worth it in the end!
ReplyDeleteI wish we could wave a magic wand to get rid of these crummy side affects for Far Guy.
I hope you have as good a week as possible under in the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteI am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteIt's a LOT hotter than that here!
ReplyDeleteOh dear...so many appts. again this week. Hope they all go well for you both. Nap when you can, that's for sure. Your dinner sounded easy and good. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI sure wish there was some alternative medicine that your husband could take. That chemo stuff is so debilitating.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely zinnia, I wouldn't mind some in my garden
Sadie will be so excited to y'all. Hope all of the appointments produce good results...this is a lot of appointments and if you are like me, this makes me so tired. Safe travels up north.
ReplyDeleteI do hope the PT is helpful in building your stamina. Sad to hear that Far Guy is having such a tough time.
ReplyDeleteThe smoke cleared here too for a couple of days, but was in the air again this morning. Not horrible, but I know that even a little bit of smoke is difficult for Far Guy.
