Photo Project

Way last Spring I ordered new photo albums to replace the ones that are 50 + or - years old.  My idea is to get rid of most of the scenery photos and all of the bad photos, and mark all the photos with names and dates.

My desk is full...this project may take a little while!  Jen helped with her album.

Sadie and Jen are great company!

We had ribs and baked potatoes for supper.  Minnesota weather: High of 73F or 23C although with the humidity it felt way warmer than that!  Low was 59F or 15C.

  1. I'm starting on a photo project too, but I'm going with digital which means I'll scan the ones I want and put it in a digital format in a book I'll have printed.
    Lots of sorting to do!

  2. I spy a bp cuff. I need to do what you’re doing. It’s so huge a task. If I could just label who is in the pictures. I have many just in boxes. Oh, I need to follow your lead. Maybe this winter?

Now, glad to know about the potassium thing. Also, it says may make arthritis worse. What are u on now? Just curious. For every med there’s a bunch of bad stuff. Frustrating. I have really bad arthritis so I’m already anxious.

  3. Sounds like a big project, just the way you like it. Always busy, always improving stuff.

  4. That sounds like a big project. I'm sure there will be many memories that come to mind as you sort through the photos.

  5. This will take some time. We were much hotter yesterday. It was horrid. Sadie has an adorable smile.

  6. Your photo project is something I need to do as well. I've been scanning some old photos again this week. I have a spreadsheet where I've been adding info about the photo, but really need to find the handwritten list for the big batch of scanning I did from my MIL's albums a few years ago. I'm putting all the photos I've scanned onto flash drives for each of Dave's siblings.

  7. In support of the scenery photos, there are a lot of times it is really interesting to go back and see what places used to look like. Could you maybe keep them, just mark them with the place and date? I know, it doesn't help with getting rid of the clutter. Enjoy the summer while it is here. Hugs, Kara

  9. You are very ambitious with that plan. It's smart though, for future generations. We found so many photos from Mom's place that we have no idea who people are.
We're in Helena, MT right now. I had a hard time commenting on blogs yesterday as we drove across WY and MT because internet was so sporadic. We had a great time with our son last night and tonight after everyone is off work we'll meet for pizza and enjoying our grandkids. The no humidity here in the mountains is wonderful. Even though it was in the 80's yesterday, it felt cool and no need for a/c. Windows wide open all night. I love the mountains so much! Still praying always for you two.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  10. I thought you had finished that project or was that albums for the grands? Your family must be so grateful to you for doing all that. Hours of work and dedication done with love.

Glad Miss Sadie is there for her visit. :) :)

  12. That's a really good idea. Mom made photo albums of all their trips and mostly all the pictures in them are labeled...still do we really need a gazillion photos of the Grand Canyon? Well...maybe we do..

  13. Good for you to sort out the photos. It takes time and effort but is worth it.

  14. I like your idea of replacing scrapbooks. I should do the same thing. I don't know if I have enough ambition to do it.

  15. I keep telling myself I need to do that also, but I don't seem to make it happen :(

  16. My very talented son has decided to take all the family photos and digitalize them! A big job. So many of my albums are falling apart too. Good luck with the task that lies ahead.

  17. My mom started a similar project before she passed. She didn't label much though and I am left with a lot of photos that I can't recognize anyone in. But I am glad she divided them up at least for my side and my sister's side. I am envious of your cool temperatures. It is 99 degrees this minute at quarter to 6 in the evening. Ugh!

  18. That sounds like a really good idea, but I have so many albums that it just sounds too daunting. Maybe my kids will just throw them away when I'm gone?

  19. I am in awe of all the work you have done and are doing with your family photos. What a project and you just keep going. I am trying to decide how to start.

  20. I have three large bins of photos. Some dating from the early 1900's. Many pictures are not identified. I really should do what you are doing...but may I use the excuse that all of those photos are in CA and I am in FL?!!

  21. This latest project could take you right into Fall. It will be great to have it done.
