Progress

I bought a new pole for my flag outside the door.  My old flag pole was too darn difficult to attach a flag and this one works better.  I have enough flags I could change them every week.   (years of collecting)

This is the one I chose for a week maybe two.   The Loons are here down at the lake according to my baby brother.  I have not heard them ...but the Canada Geese are honking when flying over and the Bald Eagle circles above in the trees.  ( He is looking for small critters to eat as most of the road kill has been consumed.)

The patch in the side yard might be grass someday.  If it doesn't rain soon I will have to get out the water hose and tend to it myself.

I have been selling some stuff...a very Vintage 1970's love seat left the house yesterday!  One less thing to clean around.   It was fairly ugly... it was useful when youngest Grandson Adam was a little boy ...he could stretch out on it and sleep very comfortably. (He grew)

I bought a set..a sofa and this love seat from friends Bonnie and Rueben when they got new furniture about 1999.  Chance claimed the couch but never the love seat...so it was almost as good as the day I bought it.  No one ever sat it it anymore...Jen used it for a luggage rack.

Progress is slow but still progress.   Trying to look at the bright side of things!

Supper was salad and a Philly on a pretzel bun.:)
Weather: High was 69 F or 21 C eh.  Warm for the first part of May.

  2. I always enjoy when something I never use anymore finds a good home and I have another patch of "free" real estate.

  3. Aarrrgh - - - - I had a comment almost completed and lost it so here I go again!
There most be something contagious in the air because I have gotten more things gone from this house, too during the last couple of weeks. It's easier as time passes and we know something won't be used again. Some of it is bittersweet and a few things lighten the spirit.
Your meal sounds delicious. We had the cabbage roll skillet casserole again with enough left for today. We ate a bit of rice with it yesterday but will have Alexia French Fries with it today. They are quite delicious and natural ingredients. We like the house cut but there are more than a few varieties. How many are a few anyway? Sounds like something to research for fun.

  4. We reached 70 degrees here two days ago. Then it went back to normal, ten degrees colder. With wind. I look forward to seeing your flag collection.

  5. Wow, the couch is in great shape for its age. I might try the flags. I could have those. I’m not planting more flowers to mow around. I bet they’re expensive.

  6. That is a really pretty flag. Love those loons.

Getting rid of unused - and ugly - furniture pieces is a really good feeling. In our house it was a big ugly blue recliner. We moved it from our old house to this house in 2006 because our college age kid insisted she wanted it in her apartment. But then it never went to her apartment. It just sat in my basement family room for years. LOL

  7. I picked up a flag holder at a thrift store this winter and have my very first flag for it. But it says Welcome Spring, so I need to get something for summer!!!

  8. Pretty flag! I have a large assortment of flags, too, and change them frequently. My neighbors always comment when they see a different one flapping in the wind. I had another lumbar ablation yesterday and have my fingers crossed that it will work as well as the last one.

  12. I've always enjoyed your flag collection!
The loveseat was still in great condition. Glad somebody will use it.
Been so warm! Says we could hit low 90s Sunday through Tuesday! Beginning of May!?

  14. Nice flag, hanging flags outside one's home isn't done much down here..
That sofa did look like something from the 70's

  15. The love seat is in really great shape. If it is like the one I had many years ago, it is also a heavy beast - the manufacturers used real wood back then.
We reached 29C (84F) today. Crazy weather for early May. I'd love to get my bedding plants in the containers but am concerned we could still get a freeze.

  16. Dry here too. It would take a tremendous amount of water to get the grass growing here. It's very dry.

  17. The 70's make me think of the colours Harvest Gold and Avacado Green. That love seat isn't too offensive. Good sale on it!

  18. Nice that someone wanted your old love seat. It will have another life.
