Thursday is Infusion Day for Far Guy...he needs the infusion once a week to protect his fragile lungs. After his infusion it was imperative that he see a Dr. Something was just not right this entire week.
They ran blood tests and did a Cat scan...he has infiltrates in his lungs but not pneumonia... yet.
FYI a pulmonary infiltrate is a substance denser than air and can be blood, pus or protein. Until it is investigated further who really knows what is going on? Is there a plan in place?? Nope the ER Doc gave us no direction...see your Primary Care Dr or Pulmonary Specialist for a follow up.
They sent him home with yet another course of antibiotics and steroids after a four plus hour wait in the ER. ( He has had two rounds of antibiotics and steroids in the last month. )
I thought they should give him IV antibiotics and steroids...but what do I know...well probably more than they do about his lung problems.
Far Guy is discouraged, I am discouraged. Far Guy feels crummy. I feel crummy cause he feels crummy.
One day at a time.
Far Side
Ha, you can of course also divide it: first clean the carpet and then take a walk or the other way around of course. Oh how difficult this is for both of you, so insecure and then so sick... I pray for you and wish you much strength!
ReplyDeletePraying for healing and answers. I can totally understand the frustration. You know your own bodies better for sure.
ReplyDeletei can hear the discouragement all the way here in MD...but take heart...he is a toughie and will weather this blip as he has others...just plain annoying...you are an excellent caregiver...
ReplyDeleteSending wishes that he will feel better really soon.
ReplyDeleteLarson says... don't let the bustards get you down!!!!
ReplyDeletePraying for you both.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear Thursday was such a frustrating day. Keeping both of you in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteAs a retired nurse....ahennnn....I don't leave the hospital or the doctors without knowing the "plan" I get in their faces to get it! They have a plan for you or your loved one but it's really up to You to impress upon Them that you are NOT leaving without...the Plan!
ReplyDeleteQuiet and elderly get forgotten! Make some noise!

I'm with Donna - make some noise! I hope you can get in to see the pulmonologist soon. A 4 hour wait in ER is horrendous! Should change that name to WR - waiting room. My granddaughter with the ruptured appendix spent almost 2 months on various antibiotics before they finally found one that worked. Health care is becoming scary.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that Far Guy didn't get the necessary treatment. I do hope he is able to see his Primary doctor quickly and a plan can be made.
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry for this difficult time. Nothing I can say would suffice so I won’t try. I’m not good with demanding but guess that’s what you need, an advocate!
ReplyDeleteWe have to be our own advocates or our sick spouse’s advocate at times. We are around then all the time and not just 15 minutes at an appointment and I say this being married to a doctor. They are human and don’t see everything necessary to make the correct diagnosis all the time. My wife wishes she had that super power but doesn’t. I pray for Far Guy’s quick and complete healing.
ReplyDeleteFrustrating. Hoping today is a better day.
ReplyDeleteOh my, I'm sorry for you two having to go through this yet again. I hope you can get something with your pulmonologist or primary soon. You take such good care of each other that I'm sure you will get answers soon. I'm praying for the two of you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
That sounds so frustrating! Sending healing vibes!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you.
ReplyDeletePraying 🙏 for both of you.
ReplyDeleteAWK!! So frustrating!! I hope he can get in to see one of his own doctors next week. And, of course, it is a holiday weekend, too. *love and hugs*
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for this to be happening and I know this must so very frustrating for you and FG. a four hour wait in the ER is difficult enough and then to just be sent home with more antibiotics and steroids...ARGH! I would have at least thought that he would have received fluids. Hopefully you can get in quickly to see the pulmonologist and get to the bottom of the issue...Prayers continue...
ReplyDeleteI do hope it will all be OK.
ReplyDeleteDang, sorry he's not feeling well. The doctors are sometimes not very helpful.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about Far Guy and it is truly understandable that he feels crummy and is sick of being sick! Very thankful for your regular infusion people. They get the correct medicine for him and seem to be alert to issues.
ReplyDeleteI did not know about infiltrates but once you explained it, it makes perfect sense for it to have that name. I do hate he is not able to enjoy the beautiful weather much since he is under the weather again for a bit.
Sending both of you prayers and positive vibes!
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating this must be. To wait 4 hours only to be given yet another prescription and be told go home. Saying that you're in my thoughts and prayers seems so inadequate.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tough situation for everybody. I hope that they find a solution.
ReplyDeleteFrustrating indeed, it must feel like you got bugga all real help
ReplyDeleteSo very frustrating! I've been getting the same treatment from doctors. No answers! Will continue to pray!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this news. Praying for far guy to get much better and soon. Prays for you too Connie.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear this. Sending prayers for you both.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. It is so frustrating when you don't get an answer and your concerns are brushed off. I wish I could wave a wand.

ReplyDeleteOh Connie, I'm so so sorry to hear about your husband's current lung issues. I will keep him in my daily prayers. And oh.... the ER visit!! I haven't been in the ER for many years now but the memory of the last time is definitely still with me. Ugh! ~Andrea xoxo
