I was searching for on old recipe. Funny thing I never found the recipe but I did find this.
Some kind of game was played...not sure what...not sure who kept score but I came in last (4th) place. Paige and Maddie are just one point apart...Savannah was clearly the winner!
I like to play games...board games, card games if you name it I will play it! Far Guy used to play Scrabble with me a long time ago.
In the Winter Jen and Andy like to play games in the evening. I think it is a great family activity!
The old recipe remains someplace in oblivion...but the score card remains in one of my recipe boxes:)
On the back of this sheet of paper was hand written pattern for a floral frame that I wanted to make.
Yesterday our high was 72 F or 23 C eh.
Supper was scrambled farm fresh brown eggs and an English muffin.
Far Side
So glad you found this blast from the past. Such a blast can change a run of the mile day into a very special day.
ReplyDeleteMy sister loved to play games and was always pulling me into them. I now like to play games on my laptop but not much with other people. Sister PJ died in 2014.
ReplyDeleteSupper sounds delicious! I love when I happen upon a sweet memory. Precious.
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that?!?!? We sometimes run into things like that when pulling out old games. Most recently, I think it was yatzee, we had some score sheets in there that were decades old!
ReplyDeleteClearly you were having fun with the kids! My Nan taught us to play Canasta when I was a child, but her game bore no resemblance to the game I played this winter in Yuma. Or at least my memory says it wasn't the same.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of easy meals, breakfast for dinner is a favorite.
It's funny how the scraps of paper accidentally get saved.
ReplyDeleteWhen we were kids and throughout my high school years, my mom would buy a board game each Christmas. We would play and had lot of fun doing it. The funny thing is she did not like playing games at all but did it because she knew it was good family fun. I think I inherited that "not liking games" from here. I would rather be doing a craft or reading a book.
ReplyDeleteOur big midday meal was leftover Cabbage Roll Skillet Casserole from the day before. It was even more delicious the second day - - but not a good idea to eat that much cabbage two days in a row. hahaha.
My Mom’s recipe box was filled with similar papers and all had a recipe written on the back. She never let anything go to waste.
ReplyDeleteWhat a little treasure to find!
ReplyDeletePlaying cards and board games is such a fun thing to do! :)
I like finding those old bits of paper in odd places. I like playing games too. We still play Mexican Train (Dominoes) most Sunday afternoon. The 2 youngest sons and us 2 oldies play cards when they are in the mood.
ReplyDeleteWe played games too. My Laura’s family played a lot. All three of their girls are so smart. They also put jigsaw puzzles together. Savannah might have been the score keeper! lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun little surprise to find! We played a lot of board games when the kids were growing up. And we do like playing cards. I quit playing Scrabble with Dave some years ago because I got tired of always losing to him - and I'm a sore loser. LOL
ReplyDeleteI like playing board games too but Tom doesn't so the only time I play them is on holidays when we have family around and are not watching TV.
ReplyDeleteWe are a game playing family too! We have a running tab of who has won the most Uno games... it's me! Uno is our favorite but Phase Ten and SkipBo are right up there too. Hubby and I play Backgammon but have failed to interest the grands in it so far. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSupper sounds good...can't beat fresh eggs. Isn't it fun to find old papers like this one you found.. Brings back memories.
ReplyDeleteThat was a "FUN" find!
