I spend the day taking some mini workshops at an Artsy Fartsy place in Battle Lake Minnesota. My cousin Leann and her daughter Cora and my sister in law Beth ( my baby brother's bride) went too!
We made some small fridge magnets, glass beads, watercolor Christmas cards and an alcohol ink ornament. It was great fun!
The fridge magnets are not dry yet they should brighten up a bit when they are dry. My beads are lopsided but it was fun to do the process...not sure I will ever do that again. The alcohol ink ornament was really fun and I would do that one again for sure!
Here are my watercolor cards. I like to watercolor so that is one class I would take again.
Each class was 90 minutes long and we had time off for lunch. It was a fun day!

I have never heard of painting with alcohol ink so I "looked it up". It is very interesting and also sounds like it takes a bit more time and preparation as well as a special surface for painting - - not just plain paper. Did you have to wear gloves when using it? One thing I read said it is extremely difficult to get any of the paint/pigment off your skin if you don't. I got the impression that the colors are more brilliant than with regular paint. What is your thought on that last point? I have no painting/drawing talent so will not be doing this but our younger daughter is quite talented.
These are definitely fun to look at. I love the snow thingy especially. :-)
That sounds like a fun time, learning some new crafts and practicing some you enjoy. The fridge ornaments look interesting, and the cards and ornament are lovely. Any ideas for the beads?
Lovely projects! I like them all. I wish we had things like that around here and if I had more energy I would host one but I'm a terrible teacher so forget that! LOL! YOur cards turned out beautiful.

THat day looks like so much fun! I would love to go to a craft day like that sometime. I did enjoy the little crafts we did here last week.
