Never mind that I had a dish towel tied around my head...I must have been throwing winter hats off...and my Mother found a way to keep my ears covered.
Photo taken at the farm where I grew up...and the year...most likely 1953 or 1954.

I love old photos like that. I used to mostly take scenery pictures that avoided people until I started inheriting pictures from various ancestors. I quickly realized that the ones I most enjoyed seeing were those with people I knew in them. I have tried to take more pictures of my own family as a result. I just don't know if those digital pictures will survive like physical ones.
These are such great photos Connie! The first one looks like someone is inventing tall tales of the hunt itself. You look like you are going to let them know what needs done next. My Mom used to tie her scarves over our heads like that on really cold days too. Our caps would creep up and than our ears were uncovered. It seems as though I remember people wearing more hats back then than they do now.

Oh my! I remember my dad had old home movies of me about the same age coming up and petting the dead deer he and Eldie (his cousin?) were posing next to. They were so proud because they were bow hunters and it was hard to get one, he said. Seems like that was the thing back then--to pose with the deer at the farm and take pictures. They took a lot of pictures next to their cars, too. Cars were a big purchase and they liked to show them off--and the farms and farm equipment and/or horses, too. Such fun to look back on these old photos! I love your kitchen towel headgear!
Old photos take a long time because we stop and look at them so long.
Thanksgiving makes us nostalgic, I think. I love the little you out there with the guys, dish towel and all.
My Mom would tie a cloth around my kids' ears too if she thought the day was too chilly and I hadn't dressed them warm enough.
I love the picture. You were Dad’s helper. The deer does not look huge, but those are the tastiest.
I have photos of me just like that , except I have a scarf on that looks very similar to your dish towel. I wear a scarf to this day to keep my ears and neck warm. Born in 1958 here.

Ha ha! My father took photos of me with a dish towel wrapped around my head too! I think mom used a second one around my mouth so I'd be quiet for a while...I guess.
