I started crocheting borders around my mosaic patchwork on April 12. In the meantime I started watching Downton Abbey...and finished that series which I give a 10! I enjoyed it very much! Well I finished the borders on June 1st....and now I begin the crocheting of the patches together.
I laid it all out on the floor upstairs.
Each patch is a different mosaic design. I will have to start another Netflix series in order to finish it! I used a 3.75 size hook and Stylecraft Special DK yarn.
We had a busy morning with outside projects. The Popple Puke was pretty good in the morning... in the afternoon it filled the air again. The Pine pollen is bad but we don't have many Pines and the Oak dangles are still forming on the trees.
That quilt is gorgeous! Love all the patterns.
You are so crafty!
Your mosaic project is really looking good. Each section design is just so pretty!
I didn't watch Downton Abbey when it was first on, but did go back and binge watch it online right before seeing the first movie. It sure is a wonderful series! I went to the new movie last week with a girlfriend, and enjoyed it just as much as the rest.
The squares turned out so pretty. The designs are so intricate and complicated lookiing. :-) We enjoyed Downton Abbey too. We were going to go see Highclere Castle where it was filmed when we were in London, but ran out of time. Maybe next visit. If you're looking for another series, do you like murder mysteries? On YouTube are all of the episodes of Midsommer Murders. We've watched them before and are working our way through them all again. We're on Season 8 of 21.
We're having some gorgeous weather this week. Blue, blue skies and 70's. My idea of perfection. If it could only stay like this year round. :-)
Oh how pretty, Connie. Very autumn & winter-type colors...at least to me. I love it! My youngest daughter loves-loves-loves Downton Abbey too. Isn't there a movie coming out with that theme? It seems like I read something about it but where I don't know. ~Andrea xoxo
Beautiful blocks! This will be a gorgeous blanket/afghan.
Your quilt project is going to be beautiful! i love al; the colors and patterns.
We are experiencing cottonwood snow here, later than usual. It usually creates snowy days in May.
The mosaic squares are so pretty! What a lovely blanket that will be when complete.
Mornings seem to be the best time to be outdoors - my spruce are giving off their sticky, icky, stuff - which I assume means I'll have bazillions of pine cones over the next couple of years. The wind keeps picking up during the day too.
The mosaic squares all came out so beautiful! Your talent is amazing to me.
Beautiful quilt! Everything is leafed out down here, but there are still plenty of wildflowers pollening about!
Awesome about your progress. Bet you'll be glad when you get it finished.
I never learned to crochet, I did learn to knit in Girl Scouts, but haven't a clue anymore. Your quilt looks lovely. I watched Downton Abbey on PBS but I didn't finish it.
Looks like it is going to be a big one! I love working and finishing a large project. Especially when it turns out the way I was expecting. Can't wait to see the finished project.
That's going to be nice and warm to wrap up with!
I love the colors and all the different patterns! I can't wait to see it finished. I did not start watching Downton Abbey right away. I think it was the weekend before Season 4 and our local PBS station ran a marathon. I was in bed with pneumonia and it just ran for over 2 days. What I slept through the first round, I caught the next. By the end of the marathon, I was hooked.
Hi Connie hope you and fire guy are well. I'm trying to get my blog up and running again and finally paying attention to my wild flower gardens and so on. Let's keep in touch....... Ray
Very pretty! You have a lovely eye for color combinations.
That is going to be just beautiful!!
We live in a forest so we have a ton of pines......the pollen flies off in sheets this time of year! Wow.....your Mosaic squares are something beautiful to behold. What a gorgeous quilt! You do some wonderful things!!!
You are so dedicated!
This is beautiful now and will be stunning when finished. I never tried watching Downton Abbey, meaning I'm probably the only person I know who hasn't. Why? I really don't know.
Love the patchwork. It is so different and special.
I have been so intrigued by this mosaic quilt since you started it....want to see the other side as well as I remember the backside is entirely different.
Pollen this year is giving the other half a persistent cough that would have worn me out.
Let's all wiggle our noses and say 'pollen be gone'.
Sadie has grown SO fast. ;)
Each square being different and yet they do blend so well in color. It is fun to watch demos from people to do things. I use them all the time for working with my electric tools. I would love Downtown but my wife is not so interested. I like history a lot.
That blanket is gorgeous! What pattern is that? I loved Downton Abbey too.
