Home work

I got the lawn mowed, it was a sad sight with the dandys shooting up their seed heads.  It is better now for a few days.

Still have not decided on flowers.  Procrastination.

My Late Lilac is just about to bloom.

Today I will tackle weeds and thistle....and maybe some ants.  Yes it will be mass destruction and I will enjoy it!

We are hoping for a good rain shower to settle the pollen.  Far Guy has been held hostage in the house most of the past couple of weeks.  He goes outside for very short periods of time.  Another week and we should be over most of the pollen.  Far Guy is feeling short of breath and wheezing which irritates him.  He wants to get out and do "stuff."

The pollen is an issue! This is the second year I've noticed it with sneezing and feeling stuffy headed. Interesting that it seems to have crept up on me.

Your yard looks really nice. Ours needs another mowing but it looks like rain for a few days. Well, I told the hubby with the price of gas ... I may just fence most of the yard in and let my mules eat it. I've done that before!

Have a great day!

Hubby and I mowed yesterday afternoon. Can't believe how fast the grass is growing. Right now a Cottonwood tree is sending "cotton" everywhere. I also can't wait for pollen season to be over with. Have a great weekend.

that's got to be terrible not to get a full breath....yes, a good rain will help.

The pollen hasn't been as bad here as it sometimes is. And I'm thankful for that because I can deal with mild symptoms. Hope you get some rain to knock down that pollen so FG can get out and enjoy whatever "stuff" he chooses.

This pollen is bothering me and I have no known allergies, so I can only imagine how awful it is for Far Guy. We had a lovely rain yesterday afternoon and it's raining today, so hopefully it will head to you next.

Far Guy probably spent a good deal of time out in the pollen at the Car Show, eh? It's a doggone shame that he has to suffer for doing something so enjoyable to him. :-( Sometimes life is just NOT fair!! I hope you get your rain and that the pollen settles down for him. ~Andrea xoxo

I have tried this solution for killing ants outside. Works pretty darn good. ¾ cup warm water
1 TBSP borax
⅓ cup sugar
Dissolve the sugar and borax. Then we use small bottle caps around the area they travel. Kills some on contact and others bring it back to the next. Good luck.

Dennis has been busy with his mowing. He did both yards here yesterday, Brad & Mandy's today and cut and hauled tree branches at Mom's after we got home. Our nephew is supposed to pick them up but he can't be counted on so we'll probably be making a dump run with them soon.
I'm so sorry that Far Guy suffers so with his breathing. Life stinks sometimes doesn't it? I wish he could be out more with you.
Blessings,
Betsy

I've got extra rain if you want to borrow it. We got well over an inch yesterday! :-)

I don't know about up there but It's going to be hot down here next week. So, the weekend is my last chance to get something done. Poor Far Guy, it's no fun being housebound.

Always lots of yard work. It seems like it never ends.

IF I had room for another shrub I'd get a late lilac. Unfortunately I can't fit it anywhere. I hope you get a nice gentle rain that will clear the air. Like DJan said...we have lots of extra to share.

Your mowed lawn looks good. A shower of rain and the grass grows like crazy again. That's okay though...I'm so glad it's summer. We are finally past the pollen. Hope yours goes away soon so Far Guy can enjoy being outside.

I have stuff for fire ants. I doctor a hill then more come. I’m going to start spraying some when it stops raining. It’s rained all week.

I love lilacs and their amazing smell. I hear ya on the pollen. It is still flying around here too. Hope it gets better by you, so Far Guy can feel better too!

Lots of people are struggling with allergies this year. Hope you get some rain so it clears the air for Far Guy soon.
