Minnesota Roads

Far Guy is feeling much better after his medication was changed.  He is still very sore but at least he can breathe a bit easier.

Yesterday I drove my baby brother's vehicle to the airport in Fargo and Far Guy followed and picked me up.

On the way back I took a few photos.  The leaves left are mainly Maples, Red Oak,White Oak and Piss Popples (Aspen).

The sky was interesting yesterday with "summer like" fluffy clouds...but it was a cool day...it froze in the morning.

We are ready to spend a few days at home again.

  2. My mother used to call Popples the same thing! How interesting. Glad you can spend time at home now again.
We had a frost last night too, it nicked a lot of my flowers and I am glad I picked bouquets the night before.

  6. Well, I guess! After all you have both been through I'd think you would both be exhausted both mentally and physically especially Far Guy driving all that way after surgery.....you're both amazing! It must be that Minnesota stock! Rest up and so glad Far Guy is breathing better!

  9. My Grandma called Aspens that too! I'm glad you can relax at home for awhile and that Far Guy is feeling better. I've been praying for him, (and you too). Take care and relax a bit.
    Blessings,

  11. It din’t freeze here yet, but it’s gotten close a couple of times. And to keep us on our toes, summer is coming back with 80 degree temps next week.

  13. Yes, the leaves are getting pretty... but lots of changing left to do, isn't it. Enjoy your snuggly days at home. Perfect weather for it. ~Andrea xoxo

  14. What an attractive drive down that Highway with all the gorgeous colours. And what a strange name to give Aspens - I have never heard it before so I presume it is like a nickname. Does it have any particular significance?
Enjoy your resting-up and take it easy for a few days :)

    1. I call Aspen Piss Popple because if you use it for firewood a liquid comes bubbling out of the ends :)

  16. I'm glad Far Guy's breathing is improving. He will be sore for a bit I'm afraid. The trees are beautiful! I love the changing colors. Isn't it funny how we get so tired of being home all the time but then after a few big outings we can't wait to stay home! You two need some relaxing days!

  20. I love a nice fall drive. Other than an occasional pop into the local dairy for fresh milk, we're set to stay home for a good long while now.

  21. Beautiful photos! Glad Far Guy was feeling better and up for the drive. Well, I know it is October already, so no surprise to hear you have had your first frost, but I'm just not ready for that...still want to get as many fresh tomatoes out of the garden as I can before reality sets in.
