Gifts from friends

This was a great week for gifts!

Always fun to get something in the mail or from neighbors that stop by with a bag of gifts!

A Border Collie Table Runner and Coasters from special neighbors Leah and Jo.  The gift made us smile!  I had fun finding Border Collies that looked like our Chance...we still miss him everyday.

Soap, lotion, cuticle cream and lip balm from Araignee's Tangled Web...she has more hobbies than I do!

Yes Far Guy was woodcarving at the dining room table when I took photos.  He has a special board he uses at the table to catch chips and it also protects the top of the table.

Sheila at woodcarving shared a pattern with him...and another fellow was cleaning out his garage so we have all kinds and shapes of basswood for carving.   One of the pieces was just perfect for his project.

We have not yet picked a Christmas Ornament for this year...we have two ideas and will see what makes the cut...so to speak.

How wonderful to be remembered with gifts. Especially homemade ones, which I like better anyhow. Yesterday my husband spent the vast majority of his day in his workshop in the garage, creating something or another... and I spent the afternoon sitting in my easy chair, waiting for a feral cat outside to go into a humane cat trap I have set for him (he didn't!), and knitting. Nothing fancy.... just a plain ole scarf..... but it kept my hands busy. Our lives are very much alike but then again, I've noticed that a long time ago. :) Love, Andrea xoxo

What a thoughtful gift! Actually gifts! Love the table runner and one can never have enough soap or candles in my book. I stopped by your neighbors blog and she has horses! I hope your snow melts soon.

Thoughtful gifts, for sure.
I see that FG has special protective gloves to prevent cuts. I do hope you will show his finished project. You two are such skilled carvers.

I love that border collie print. Our border collie Betty was my favorite dog of all that we've have. When we moved from the farm into town we gave her to another farm family and she lived many more years. But I've never replaced her with another dog. Just a cat.

Beautiful runner and coasters and a touching gift. I love that there is such a variety of fabric available now. If you can't find what you want in fabric stores it will be found online. Those border collies do look like Chance!
