Change

Sometimes it is a really good thing to have lots of photos of some of your favorite things.

One of my favorite barns in a cotton candy colored sunset.
Barn at Sunset (2)
Or maybe a firey sunset… many times I would snap a photo of this barn as we left our neighbors.

The towering old barn was shortened and got a new roof.  No quite the photo op that it was but  most of the barn was saved and will be put to good use.
Change isn’t easy…but sometimes necessary.

Nice pictures, sunset or sunrise. Glad you captured it like it was before. Yes, change is not easy for me either.

That is for certain "change isn't easy" :)

Beautiful sunset shots. I imagine it will be easier to maintain the barn now that the roof has been altered, and I'm glad the barn was not destroyed.

This is such a lovely post. The barn may have changed... and the sunsets too, but look at that tree on the left that still leans!

Wow! That was a change. I thought they tore the whole thing down. Still makes for a pretty picture though.

Nothing like the old hip roof barns.

Where I live change is a constant, if one ventures out around the city much. Right now, big cottonwood trees, long a landmark, are being taken down right up the street. Sometimes change is welcome, sometimes not.

Lovely sunsets. Too bad the barn had to be remodeled but, as you say, at least it was saved and can still be used.

At the start of our dead end road there was an old tobacco barn and I photographed it for many years. Then one year it got torn down and could no longer tell folks to turn at the old tobacco shed!

That barn style was the same as on my wife’s home farm. That farm was holding the entire 80 acres are cleared of everything. A min strip mall has been built there on the back part. I need to dig into the archive to verify it.
