Rain and Lupines

We were supposed to have severe weather, first the phone rang with one daughter saying a storm is headed your way…then the other told me on facebook.

We had heavy rain and hail the size of a pea.  The wind never arrived here.

Rain

I took this photo through the dining room window.

We got about 3/4 of an inch of rain, I won’t have to water my flower bed for a few days.

We headed out to an Estate Sale and along the way I spotted some Lupines, on the way back we stopped for photos.

Patch of Lupines

Lupines June 17

I bought a few pieces of glass for glass flowers.  Far Guy ended up with nothing and the sale was supposed to have antique toys. We came home, it was still spitting rain so Far Guy went to straighten up his garage and Chance and I settled in for a movie and a nap… The Movie was Jackass 2 and I promptly fell asleep. ( I think if you were drunk that movie might be funny…sober and sleepy not so much.)

I awakened to help with supper preparations…Lasagna!

We had that also. In Winkler, they had golf ball size hail. Thankfully on this side of the red river we never got hail. Tonight into tomorrow is to bet a repeat. Getting tired of the rain, but as you say, no hand watering will need to be done. Enjoy the weekend. By the way do you drill the holes in your flowers or do you use epoxy or the silicone? I am starting to do some and you are the expert! Thanks

We had rain yesterday, too, but nothing so interesting as yours. No hail, but I'll check my garden this morning to make sure everything is okay out there. I love lupines. :-)

I sure didn't hear any hail--wow! You really got pounded on!
Lasagna sounds so good. The movie--no so much--LOL! ;)

The lupines are a taller and bigger version of our blue bonnets in Texas. We saw some of these in Maine last summer.

I always looked forward to seeing the lupines when we would drive the north shore. I don't think I ever saw them any where else but along the shore road. We would stay at a motel in Grand Marais that had the back hillside covered with them.

Disappointing sale for FG. Glad you won't have to water for a few days. The lupines are so pretty - I've never seen these around here, only in books. Lasagna sounds delicious. Hi to Chance and Happy Father's Day to FG and to your Dad. xo

That's a great field of lupines.

I love the lupine. Compared to your rain, our rain only teases.

We've had a couple of days of rain but nothing like yours! But enough to fill the rain barrels again. Love those Lupines!
