The Refuge

I felt good enough on Monday to go on a little trip through the local wildlife refuge.

We found some Yellow Lady's Slippers.

Yellow Ladys Slipper and False Lily of the Valley

The little plant with the white plume is False Lily of the Valley.

We had not been to Tamarac Lake for a long time.

Tamarac Lake

Only one boat was on the lake.

Chance enjoyed the water.

Chance and his stick

We kept throwing the stick further in the water..he was patient and waited for it to come closer to him.  He never actually swam..but he got awfully wet.

I am back to work today.  I am feeling better.  I am still sore but the knife stabbing pain is gone for now.  I discontinued the muscle relaxant that made me sleep for hours on end.  I don’t remember much of the three day weekend..I was in a bit of a pain filled fog.  I had so many things planned..and got very few of them accomplished. Oh well.

Today is the last day of school tours..59 kids are scheduled for today.  I also scheduled a work day for the Board Members, I am putting the action plan they wanted into motion:)

That's good news that you're so much better. Your favorite flower showed up to be photographed for you, that's so nice! Chance didn't want to swim? I wonder why...

I'm so glad you felt well enough to take a jaunt through the wildlife refuge - and to share the flowers with us.
Get that whip out and make those Board Members hop!

Happy to hear you are feeling better. And you got to see your favorite flower - lucky you. Chance looked so happy in the water.

Nothing like medication and rest to help heal a nagging ache. Glad to hear you are feeling better - just take care not to overdo at the museum.

Agree with Dreaming. If those board members don't want to help, get off the board! You take care of yourself. Feeling better does not mean cured. Beautiful lady's slipper.

That Chance is no dummy! Don't you love finding wild flowers? Love the lady's slipper.

I'm sorry you have been so ill. I really think you have to get the board to become a working board....easier said than done!

Glad you are feeling better. Don't work yourself into a frazzle again. Glad you got to get out for a walk in the preserve. I know you like that.

I hope a few of the board members actually get a kick out of doing some work on the museum. It could motivate them to recruit some friends to come back and work on the next project. Good luck!

Happy you are feeling some better. The lake is so pretty; what a great photo of Chance with his stick. Love the flowers, too.

Oh, I'm so glad you are feeling better. I hope you are truly on the mend now and will be better and better every day.

Chance looks pretty happy to be in the water--even if he doesn't want to swim. ;)

Glad to hear that you are on the mend. Sounds like you had the same cold I had earlier in the Spring. I did the same thing, coughing so hard I strained my ribs, which took a long while to heal after the coughing stopped. I sure hope you are completely recovered soon!

What a beautiful lake! Chance looked like he had fun but that water had to be cold! Brrr! I would love to find a cabin on a lake like that without a lot of other people around. That would be heaven!
