The Bee Balm or Monarda is blooming. The Bumble Bees love it.
We only have one appointment this week! Yeah us!
I am not sure what I did all day on Monday...one load of laundry and some paperwork...hardly a days worth.
What's cooking? Phillys on pretzel buns and corn on the cob. We made enough so it was a cook once eat twice meal! Tuesday will be a no cooking day!
On Sunday we tried the Pizza Ranch in town. We need a Sunday place to go when our favorite patio place closes for the season. The pizza was good and so was the chicken after we stripped off all the coating:) Seems like it will work just fine for an alternate place.

It is always great to make a meal that makes for a second day's meal. The bee balm is such a beautiful lavender color. Two bears? Yes, please be careful when out and about. Seems like there are so many bears roaming this year. Would you believe there has been sightings of bears in counties that are near us...Maybe 40 miles. I always thought it was too hot for bears in our area. Y'all have a good day and stay hydrated..

ReplyDeleteEveryone raves about the chicken at our local Pizza Ranch and I guess it is okay in my book too. But I try to avoid buffet places these days so I only go to Pizza Ranch when others invite me to celebrate a birthday or some other event there. I've probably been there less than five times in the last decade.
ReplyDeleteI've grown bee balm many years ago, but I don't recall it surviving the winter. May be time to try again as I appreciate the pollinators.

ReplyDeleteWe used to have Bee Balm, a magenta one. It's one of the many plants that have come and gone in our garden. Ours wasn't a native though.

ReplyDeleteAh bee balm! I may try growing it again here- it did well in Creston which is a warmer climate, so I may have to mulch it to get it to survive our -30 to -40 winters.
ReplyDeleteI had Bee Balm in Colorado, and the Hummingbird moths loved it! I've never seen as many around my garden since.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you don't run into the bears either. We like Pizza Ranch. Dennis REALLY likes it. We go about once a month or so. My cardiologist appointment was changed from September to next Tuesday. That's really great because now we can take out time in coming home from our trip west...if our campgrounds are still existing by then.

On Monday my husband was walking our dog and saw a bear with 3 cubs. I hope they don't stick around
ReplyDeleteSeems like we don’t go out to eat as often as we used to. But we do like Pizza Ranch here. Dave really likes their chicken. I like the pizza and their salad bar. The restaurant we miss here is Perkins. It burned down a couple years ago and they chose to not rebuild which was surprising.
