I finished the Sunny Yellow cheerful baby blanket. It joins a green one waiting for a baby. The yarn is Baby Bee from Hobby Lobby called Snugs and Kisses...I believe I used 4 skeins.
I have not replaced this project yet..although there is yarn waiting in the wings for the next baby blanket...maybe two.
I am TRYING to work on an old mosaic crochet project that has been languishing around for a long time.
We still have warmer than normal weather but it may freeze this weekend...so there is Minnesota for ya.
My baby brother's bride, Beth and I went to Cousins lunch yesterday. Nice to see the gals!
Supper was Naan bread pizza and fruit.
Sunny warm weather 90 F or 33 C eh...gale force winds all day and we are so dry they have issued Red Flag warnings for most of Minnesota. There are fires North and East of us ...one of Far Guy's Classmates lost his home to a wildfire over the weekend.
Far Side
My favorite color is yellow! What a sweet baby blanket. I hate red flag warnings....scary! I hope you get some rain and lots of it. It's always feast or famine. Stay safe! Love your Cousin's Lunch every year.
ReplyDeleteSo sad about the friend's home. Not a good combination with winds and dryness. We have had what seems to be record rainfall this past week or two. It finally caught up to my sister's house near Augusta, GA. They were super dry for too long. She lives in one of those 'pockets' where the rain seems to go around her. We will see drought conditions though before summer gets gone.
ReplyDeletePublix had a Mardi-Gras roasted Chicken in the deli on Mother's Day seasoned with garlic, rosemary, and thyme which our older daughter picked up. It was super delicious. The last couple of days, my husband has been eating some of the grilled meats they gave him from their meal on Sunday. ( I have safe freezer food.).
We had our yummy side dish with stuff yesterday. It is 2-3 sliced carrots slightly boiled in salted water. One apple cut in large chunks - - begin sautéing in about 1 Tbsp butter. Drain carrots and add to apples. Add 2 Tbsp pure Maple Syrup, 1/4 tsp cinnamon. Cook covered (low-medium heat) until done. Delicious and low sugar.
Vreselijk die branden en nog die warmte. wat een tegenstelling hè, de warmte en dan ook nog vriezen...
ReplyDeleteTerrible those fires and also that heat. What a contrast, the heat and then also freezing...
DeleteI have used Baby Bee yarn. It’s nice. I love the yellow. It’s warmer here now to. Yesterday was 86.
ReplyDeleteI think it's been even hotter up there than down here. And it's been hot down here! Rain is supposed to come in tomorrow. Fingers crossed. That is a really pleasant yellow.
ReplyDeleteThe blanket is so cheerful!
ReplyDeleteLovely blanket!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that someone lost their home to a wildfire. We had a couple of days of smoke but it has cleared out. We need rain too, and are supposed to get some starting today through the weekend. This rollercoaster of weather makes me tired.
I'm sorry to hear about Far Guy's friends house. Fires seem to be everywhere these days. We've been much hotter than usual for this time of year too but supposed to have a bit of a cool down this weekend. I sure hope so. Our A/C is already running full tilt and it's only 9:00 am. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is beautiful. I so enjoy making baby things.
Blessings,
Betsy
Beautiful color. It looks luxurious!
ReplyDeleteThe blanket does look cheerful and cuddly.
ReplyDeleteFire season has hit here too, towns up north have been evacuated. So sorry that fellow lost his home.
That is HOT!!! You are hotter than us---64* today. With gale force winds. The winds are awful right now.
ReplyDeleteSupposed to finally cool down tonight and possibly have some rain. We need it badly. Yes, been the red flag warnings for days. So sorry to hear about FarGuy's classmate's home!
ReplyDeleteWe have chances of rain off and on coming up. Fingers crossed we get some.
That blanket looks so cuddly and soft!
I've been keeping up with the news about those fires. Prayers that they can get these under control and no more losses. This is a really pretty color for the baby blanket. Some little one is going to enjoy being wrapped in such a beautiful hand crocheted blanket....Stay safe..
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry about the fire. Our temperatures are climbing and we will hit the 90's tomorrow. I believe we have several days of humid, hot weather with a threat of thunderstorms. Bah humbug.
ReplyDeleteThe blanket loks so snuggly.
ReplyDeleteThat is terrible news about the wild fires and more danger from high winds. We all need rain where we don't have it and then where they do they have too much!
The blanket is so cute.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about the fires. Sounds like your weather has not been pleasant lately. We have had plenty of rain but the sun shines most days. Temperatures have been in the 60s and low 70s which are very comfortable. ( Fahrenheit)
ReplyDeleteHeat waves in May are a disaster in the making.
ReplyDeleteYour baby blanket turned out so beautifully....I love that color. Wow....sorry to hear about the loss of a home in a wildfire. We are very dry here too and I am praying for good rains. Such a dry winter and now a dry spring....not good. May we all get good rains soon.
ReplyDeleteHad to stop by your blog to see if you all were okay up north with such big areas of wildfires going on. I am so sorry about the loss FG's classmate's home. Fun to see your projects too! Thanks for sharing. Take care.
ReplyDeleteGoodnightgram
So sad about the friend's house. We're in a red flag warning area too. But it began raining about midnight and is still raining at 8 am today, so that should help.
ReplyDeleteThe blanket is beautiful Connie!
