Spring might be here

We went for a Ranger Blue ride and the Marsh Marigolds  better known as Butter Cups, Cowslips or really Caltha palustris are beginning to bloom.

The pussy willows are pretty much done.

Their pollen has been collected or dispersed into the air.  Sneeze.

The sun was out yesterday... Far Guy woodcarved for a bit and enjoyed the warm sunshine.  Our high temperature was 80 F or 27 C eh!  I gave the kitchen floor a good scrub and did some laundry. We ran an errand to town to get a bunch of stuff for our projects this week and then we went to our favorite out on the patio Sunday dining Mexican place for  lupper.  The food was just as good as last year, although our favorite waitress is no longer working there...I know as I asked the owner.

We came home to read and nap. That was enough activity for the elderly.

  1. Such a life! I will need to learn something like woodcarving. I did two classes with my ex-MIL in Florida when I visited her and actually had a lot of fun. I have messed around with carving afterwards but haven't really done anything.
I think our marsh marigold is in full swing. I need to go check on it but it is an hour long hike to get there and back. No trails....
Hope you are both feeling better!

  2. Wow! That's a higher temp than we had...we were only in the 60's! I have something that comes up in my yard in the Spring and they look similar to tall dandelions. I wonder if that's what they are. I use that Swiffer mop which I like a lot but I still wish I could get down and do next to the wall and the corners with a good scrub brush! I bet that sunshine did you both some good. I hope you're feeling better!

  5. That sounds like a really good relaxing day. One of our favorite local restaurants has opened up new rooftop dining. We haven't tried it out yet, but I hope to soon.

  6. That scrubbing the floor is more than enough for seniors in one day!

  7. It was warmer at your place yesterday than here in TN. We have found that our stamina allows for less activity in town than it used to, also. We have learned - - against our will - - to not overdo it - - especially as we have the summer heat creeping in on us.

  11. Certainly must be Spring if you reached 80*. Too bad about the pollen though :(

  13. We might get close to 80 tomorrow, but that's a bit too warm too fast for us Northwesterners.

  14. We are in autumn and having some chilly or down right cold days, then some nice warm days but the warm days are not as often as we head towards winter

  15. I have buttercups in the meadow! I don’t think I have the other plant. Pussy willows are are but only in more marshy areas. They’re sort of pretty.
