The tomatoes may be planted out this weekend. I started them from seed back in late April. They sit in the kitchen window and I turn them around a few times a day...and blow on them...simulating a wind:)
I grew some for my brothers and sister...nice to share.
The belt slipped off my lawn mower, my baby brother came to fix it...I need to become more mechanical. Then my other baby brother sent Mason over to fix it...I have a village surrounding me!
Yesterday I saw a Dr for a sinus infection and got meds. After that I had a four hour nap. What is the time limit on a nap anyways? You can guess the color of drainage...yuk.
Far Guy and I took Ranger Blue and went to recycle...stopping off at the cemetery where his parents are buried. Flowers were left. Friday before Memorial Day and the grass has not been mowed yet this year...buggers anyways. I noticed that a few people brought their own mowers and mowed their own.
Far Guy had a quiet day...he managed just fine the 70 minutes I was gone to the Dr. He is resting and taking it slow and easy.
Minnesota Weather; High 65 F or 19 C eh Low 40 F or 5 C eh.
No cooking happened...supper was whats in the freezer already prepared..lasagna.
Far Side
I actually got my hubby into the car loaded with his 02 and wheelchair...and took him for a drive on all the back roads to where his parents are buried. I placed the flowers as hubby didn't have the ability to get out of the car.
ReplyDeleteHe did enjoy telling me where to go and reading other tombstones from the road and telling me which of his family was where.
We then drove by all the old family farms so he could tell me who farmed where and when. It was a good trip down memory lane for him.
He said he is ready to join his dad who he misses so much.
I have not even purchased flowers to take to the cemetery yet. I have no idea what day it is anymore with my husband's work schedule. I really need to do that. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDelete"I have a village surrounding me!"
ReplyDeleteThat is a blessing.
Shucks.... A sinus infection and the lawn mower not working is not the best way to start the weekend. Thankful you have a village to help you...this is a huge blessing. Lasagna sounds pretty good to me and it is easy. Your body needed that 4 hour nap and hopefully it energized you some. Hope those meds kick in soon and you both feel better. Happy Memorial Weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm so afraid to put anything out yet, though the night temps don't seem to be going any lower than 6C. The indoor tomatoes sure are getting leggy.
ReplyDeleteHope you both have a restful weekend that involves more healing naps. It has been too many years since I last visited my parents' grave site in MN over Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have those brothers. Bless them. Tomatoes are coming on here but still green. Astrid has some about the size of those little oranges. I never fixed fried green tomatoes but lots like them. Nothing better than vine ripened tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteI hope the meds help with the sinus inection.
ReplyDeleteNice to have a community close by who can help you as needed. I do hope both you and Far Guy get lots of rest this weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter planted our tomatoes, peppers and herbs today. We'll see if they will survive.
Brothers can come in handy at times, hope you have a good weekend
ReplyDeleteWith that many mechanics next door don't worry about learning more mechanics.
ReplyDeleteI like your Memorial Day header. No cemetery visits for us this year. Instead I attended a Sounders soccer match at the stadium at noon. by the time we got how, it was 77 degrees, a beautiful day, lots of happy people, and a late game victory. It was my first game back at the stadium in a very long time. Now we are both tired, and we'll be going out and letting someone else do the cooking.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the sinus infection. Hopefully the meds take effect quickly. I don't think there's a limit to how long a nap can be.
ReplyDeleteTake it easy, both of you. and get well soon!
ReplyDeleteHaving helpful family members nearby is a blessing! I hope to plant my seedlings next week - by then, the chances of frost are about 50/50.
ReplyDeleteThose belts are a dickens....at least they were on my John Deere! I'm not sure I ever mastered it without help. Your plants look very healthy. I miss gardening but I can't eat any of it so there's no sense in growing it...except maybe root veggies, green beans, and asparagus.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have people around you to help out. But, I'm so sorry to hear that you, too, are under the weather. Lots of people seem sick this spring. I wonder if it's because of the cool weather we've had? Take care and use that freezer food.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
