Today I have steroids injections into my back. God willing and we hope the roads are good. The injections were ordered by the Spine Clinic Doctors. I hope that it helps with the pain. Time will tell. I can have 4-5 injections in a year if it works. When it no longer works I will be evaluated for surgery.
Next week I have more arthritis injections two at a time in my belly. This is the second time ( every 4 weeks) on a new med called Cimzia. Last time I had no adverse reactions...and my psoriasis was a bit better as for my arthritis pain...no change...still a bugger. Since I have multiple types of arthritis...Rheumatoid, Psoriatic and Lymes Arthritis...I am a challenge for the Doctors. The Rheumatology PA that has been managing my care finally moved on and I go back to see my other Rheumatologist later this month.
Riding in the car for any length of time is so very painful. I am still doing PT exercises, whirlpool baths and we purchased a massage gun that has heat. I take 6 Tylenol a day and a gummy on the days that I am able to stay at home. Most days I have a long nap with a heated rice bag. The pain just wears me out. I have no pain or very little when lying down...however I cannot lay around all day.
One step at a time...
Far Side
Christmas Card count... a measly 4 cards yesterday total now 23. It is a new project and has some kinks to work out...drying time is very important! It is all a learning process.
I sure hope all goes well, and you feel better soon. I crocheted my Mom a cotton covered rice bag one year for Christmas. She loved it.
ReplyDeleteI have arthritis too. It’s a battle.
ReplyDeleteI so wish you could find some real relief from the pain. It is debilitating in the long term and takes away from the enjoyment of life.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Geeze, gentle cyber hugs for you. I cannot imagine living with that sort of pain. It would wear everyone out.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope those injections work, or at least have some calming effect. Nothing is more debilitating than constant pain. You and FG have been on my prayer list for years and hope that Somebody is listening.
ReplyDeleteprayers for these injections to do great for you. I feel your pain. my knee licks up when I travel long distances. keeping you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry. Constant pain wears you down both mentally and physically. I hope these injection give you some relief.
ReplyDeleteAll the best. I hope you can manage this.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed and a prayer that the various shots work.
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather cooperates for you, too. The snow is coming don horizontally this morning here. *love and hugs from Fargo*
Chronic pain is such a hard thing, and people who don't have it don't realize how much it takes out of you. I have a herniated disc in my back - it probably no where compares to what you feel, but there's not a day I wake up that I'm not in some kind of pain (some days better than others, but always present). And it really limits how long I can do things for.
ReplyDeleteI hope the injections give you some relief
Oh! Gosh, Connie! I sure hope those shots work! ALL OF THEM! You and FG are in my prayers daily!
ReplyDeleteDennis and I pray for you and Far Guy daily. I sure hope the injections work for you. I'm so impressed by all that you do. I just got home from the walk-in clinic. I have a sinus infection and she said it's a doozy, whatever that means! Ha! I'll pick up antibiotics later. She also wanted to give me steriods and a morphine cough med. I told her no steriods because of my tachycardia and the over the counter Delsym I'm taking is working well for the cough.
ReplyDeleteTake care my dear friend. Don't worry about the cards. Everyone will love getting them, even if it's January or February.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
