My blog is still a teenager. I have been blogging for 17 years, I began in late December of 2007. Those real early blogs were on another blogging platform that is now defunct. However I have those blogs as hard copies and I may revisit a few of them on this blog next Summer...especially the ones with family history. ( So that is now on my to do list.)
My Grandson Adam asked me ...when do you blog Grandma? I usually blog in the afternoon or the evening and then set it to auto publish at 3 AM. If I know I am going to be really busy I will schedule a couple ahead of time. Yes I could be dead and still blogging...technically!
Flowers last Summer. I love primary colors in a pot of flowers.
We are doing okay Up North, there was a mix up with Far Guy's Infusion, the Doctor even tried to straighten it out....with no luck. Back home Tiff and Lynn gave him Zemaira at the Infusion Center. Here he gets Aralast that makes him very short of breath. The Pharmacy up here says they cannot get Zemaira. Far Guy will contact the Pharmaceutical Company himself. Far Guy gets infusions every week to protect his lungs, he has a genetic defect...rare disorder called Alpha One Antitrypsin Deficiency.
I am keeping busy with puzzles, reading, crocheting and petting Sadie while keeping one eye on Far Guy. No improvement in my RA pain...the injections in my back worked about ten days. I was hoping for longer...but thats life.
I will keep blogging as long as I am able. I enjoy reading many blogs and connecting with many people all over the world.
Thank you for reading!
Far Side
I have been reading your blog since 2008! It is part of my morning ritual! Thank you for all your stories and watching your grands grow up, carnival stories, your resort and greenhouse stories and all of them!
ReplyDeleteI read your blog every morning before the coffee finishes dripping. I sure would miss it if you stopped.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought you were getting up really early each day to post your blog! 😁 Hope you continue blogging for many years to come. I enjoy hearing about your family and how different it is up north from Texas. Don’t miss snow though! RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteOh crap on the medication issue. I don't understand why it is so darned hard. I just talked to a neighbor whose mom needs surgery ASAP to remove a cancerous tumor. It was all set up in a University Hospital just miles away. Her insurance says she now needs to go to a place in mid Iowa for a consult and surgery ---> 4 hours away!
ReplyDeleteI sure was hoping for better results from your shots. Journeys through the medicine field can be so tiring.
I started blogging that same year, in the summer when I was pregnant for #16. Sometimes when the kids wonder when or how or where something happened or didn't happen, they'll check The Blog, ha. I wish I had had one from the beginning of having kids! I'm sorry you're having pain, and the injections didn't last longer.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary. Not too many of us left. I'm glad you're here :-).
ReplyDeleteWhat amazes me is your ability to post everyday, and always an interesting subject. I have a hard time getting one post a week up. Have you always posted every day?
ReplyDeleteI have an older blog too, that I go back to every so often to read and relive the memories. I didn't start blogging until around 2013. The community seems smaller than it once was, but I truly appreciate the diversity and creativity of many bloggers.
Maebeme Yes I have always posted a blog a day except when I have been really sick and I missed some days when my Mom was in Hospice.
DeleteCongratulations on your blog anniversary! I think we started about the same time. It seems I’ve run out of things to say, so my blog has been dormant for a while. I enjoy your posts!
ReplyDeleteI found your blog in the early days of my blogging. I started in 2008. When I restarted in 2022 you were one of the blogs from the past still active. Please do keep blogging. I also really like primary colors in pots.
ReplyDeleteHow crazy that he can't get the proper infusion he needs! I hope that can change very soon. So sorry the shot didn't last long. Are they planning to continue them? Do they think they might last longer if you get them regularly?
ReplyDeleteHi Rita, I can only get the shots 4 to 5 times a year. I see the Spine Doctor this week, maybe that will provide some answers.
DeleteI enjoy reading your blog---each and every morning. And I have enjoyed following you for many years!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's stressful when there are medical mix ups. You are the second blog I began following.
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed that you post every day and for so many years. I tried that for a year with some friends a few years ago and only one of those people managed to post every day. I missed about 4 days. This year I'll miss 60 days~~it's so frustrating. Just seems like I don't have much to say or anything to take photos of unless I deliberately go out for a photo shoot. Posting is always on my mind but some days I just get lazy. I'll keep trying in 2025 though. imageisee.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI had to look it up to see that I have been blogging since sprin 2008. I think I found yours within that first year, and have enjoyed it ever since.
ReplyDeleteNow we are getting older and age is taking its toll, but we will keep on blogging as long as we can. :-)
How disappointing that the injections only worked for 10 days.
ReplyDelete17 years of blogging!! Congratulations. For me it's been 11 years and although I don't blog every day I try for every second one. I'm glad you keep right on in spite of everything.
I started blogging in December of 2006. You and I are near the same age, both have 2 daughters, got married about the same time, stayed married. You are lots more creative than I am. Happy blogging. It’s a record of us.
ReplyDeleteI looked up the difference in the medicines as you may have, also. This is what it said which you probably already know: Purity: A study found that Zemaira is more pure than Aralast, with an average purity of 99% compared to Aralast's 70%.
ReplyDeleteMonomeric status: A study found that Zemaira is 95.98% monomeric, while Aralast is 63.55%. Those sound like huge differences and it is understandable why he is having difficulty. I pray you all can get this resolved before the next infusion. My guess is it might have been difficult to resolve this over the holidays but but hopefully FG can resolve it with contacting the company - - - and if not, ask your home infusion center how you can get it there? Please keep us updated and we will pray he improves and gets what his body needs soon. And thank you for blogging! I am thankful you keep doing that.
Lol. I schedule my blogs ahead of time too - and have had that same "dead and blogging" thought!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI began following your photo blog many years ago. I’m so glad we’ve connected.
ReplyDeleteReading this has made me wonder if I have any of my first post which were done on site that no longer exists, I will have to check my hard drive, I have been on blogger also since 2007, I started late October 2007. I also will be around a long time to come
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you're still blogging. What would I do without you as a friend? Isn't it funny the relationships we make as blogging friends? I have an appt. with the cardiologist this Friday to have my pacemaker gone over before they turn it off for my MRI next Monday. Hopefully this MRI will give answers on my back issue.
ReplyDeleteAs for Far Guys medication, it's ridiculous that they can't get his preferred medication. I feel like medication is just a big business now. It usually doesn't even seem like anyone really cares about it you, it's just a job and money, money, money. I hope that everything is straightened out by his infusion on Thursday.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
You are dealing with a lot...I so wish your pain had eased for longer. And wish Far Guy did not have all the issues to deal with.
ReplyDeleteI have been blogging since may of 2007, but not steadily. I took breaks, sometimes LONG ones. Meant to say that.
ReplyDeleteLong time reader (around 2009). Thank you for your dedication to keeping up your blog for so long! I'm not sure how I found you, but it interested me because I too live in MN (Brooklyn Park). Take care!
ReplyDeleteI feel like you are a member of my family, I know so much about you and yours. We've been following each other since I think 2009. I hope FG will get his correct medicine this week. Sending you prayers as usual.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary ~ blogging is good for a person and enjoyable for those that follow. Take care!
