I had virtual book club yesterday. We read The Women by Kristin Hannah.
I give the first part of the book a 10 and the second part a 9.5 ...I would highly recommend it, it is about a Nurse that served in Vietnam. Everyone in the book club liked the book.
I ran errands in town whilst Far Guy had his infusion yesterday. Groceries, bank, picked up our special order Christmas paper for the non existent Christmas letter and I went to the Meat Store...we were out of Bacon! Came home put everything away, visited with my baby brother, his bride, Baxter and Smudge. Smudge grew a bit taller when they were gone for a couple of weeks and Baxter is looking thin...I think he missed my treats (Cheerios).
No huge improvement in my back pain yet....might be a little less pain...time will tell.
Christmas Card Report: 12 more added total is now 47.
Far Side
I got that book for my birthday! I really enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI keep hoping those shots will kick in and you will be pain free.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds interesting. Not that I read much any more. I dont know where my time goes. I find it challenging to blog every other day.
ReplyDeleteI would hope you'd find some relief before too long! Constant pain is very tiring.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was nice to visit yesterday. I be Baxter missed you AND your Cheerios!
My card count is zero.
I'm sure I'll write a letter and send it to my Aunt who sends me a card every year. She is the only one of my family that actually sends one!
;)
Well...you are making progress with the cards which is great. 12 cards with a busy schedule is pretty good... a day of running errands can be so tiring but you got a lot done. You may have to sneak some Cheerios over to Baxter....lol. My sister in law had those injections and it took a few days before she noticed a difference...Praying this works for you and you will have relief.
ReplyDeleteI really hope you get some pain relief from these injections. I haven't done any cards or letters yet, but sill have good intentions to do so.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this book when I finally read it this fall. Maybe it's because it's our generation.
ReplyDeletePoor Baxter, I'm sure he was happy to see you. :)
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds interesting, I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
The book sounds really interesting. You got a lot done yesterday. I've just been sitting watching Christmas YouTube movies. I'll be glad when my antibiotic kicks in.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Tragic, out of bacon! I sure hope you get some pain relief.
ReplyDeletean awesome book....very worthwhile read esp for anyone who remembers those days
ReplyDeleteThose ground blizzards sound awful. I try REALLY hard to not drive in them, but like you sometimes it can't be helped. Thanks for the book idea!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see what you are reading. I bet your back shows improvement with the shots. Little at a time though.
ReplyDeleteI hope the shot kicks in...like today! Soon! Now! You need some relief.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds interesting and must be good if everyone liked it, too.
Have a really nice weekend. :)
The Women is one of my favorites by Kristin Hannah.
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds like one I'd enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOut of bacon? That calls for a trip to the store for sure. I don't eat meat as a rule but a nice crisp piece of bacon? Yum. GM
I am sorry your back pain is not better.
ReplyDelete"The Women" came up in conversation at our holiday brunch just this morning. I read it last year and then had Tom read it. We all liked it very much, and we all commented on how much we learned even though we were all Vietnam era young people.
ReplyDeleteSure hope all your treatments work and that your back feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteKristin Hannah is a popular author. I have not read any of her books.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the book Still Life has gotten better. After the story line moved on...and I figured out the (way too many) characters and nicknames.
Hope your back pain improves!
I like her books. I haven't read that one so I'll put it on my list!
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter and I read that book. Glad you liked it. We did too.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Gram
