Jen Quilts

I  do not sew, I do not quilt.  I have a 1975 Kenmore sewing machine that may have seen 20 hours of sewing over the past 48 years.

Youngest daughter Jen is taking quilting classes.  She got a new sewing machine for Christmas a Juki.  Adam moved out to his own apartment and his room was converted into a sewing room within a few hours.  I stay out of there.

She made this quilt that hangs in the craft room.

Nicely done for her first try!

That is beautiful! I have tried pattern quilts and didn't do well. I made only one.
However, I made crazy quilts which were just random pieces put on a blanket to make it prettier.

This is wonderful.

It turned out beautiful! Great job Jen! I don't quilt either but do other projects that I consider easy! Maybe some day :)

That is an amazing first effort!

Her fist quilt is lovely and looks very well done. Your creative skills are just with a different media - paint, yarn, wood.

What a pretty little quilt with interesting patterns. I have never quilted but used to sew quite a bit when Dagan was young. My old machine from 1974 finally bit the dust and couldn't be repaired anymore several years ago. Bought a new machine...but it's at Leah's. No point in hauling it back here. Won't be too long and I will be over there for good, anyways--lol!

Very nice! I used to sew, I made many of my own cloths. But I didn't quilt.

Nice job on the quilt. The block patterns presented a variety of skills, and it looks like Jen nailed them!

Pretty, soft colors. I tried quilting and did make a wall hanging for my mom that she loves and she has it in the care home where she now resides. But I hated the whole process. Not my thing. But Connie, I have finally achieved a sock with a beautiful heel and I couldn’t be prouder!!! (I’ve lost count of the number of attempts I’ve made over the years but something just clicked this time.)

What a beauty for her first quilt! It seems everyone is buying a Juki nowadays. I'd never heard of them until this past year.

Nicely done! That is pretty complex for a beginner!

I spend far too much time in my craft room, sewing & quilting. Jen did a great job!

She looks like she is a pro. The colors work well and the designs work well too.

Very nice! She better be careful... I hear quilting is addicting! And an expensive habit!

Wow....I love Jen's quilt. You are so creative, Connie, in so many ways. Enjoy all the creative things that you do and that we all enjoy seeing here. I love seeing all your talents. I did a lot of sewing when my kids were at home, so I appreciate that too.

Oh, I love her quilt. Wish I could do this. Guess Jen made A’s in geometry.

Very pretty quilt! She did a great job! I used to quilt. Actually taught a few classes. It was those classes that landed me in the mess with my hands. I was cutting over a thousand pieces for kits for everyone when I first experienced my trigger fingers. Tried the steriod shots, had surgery on both hands. Slowly giving away my fabric . . .

I never would have guessed this as a first time quilt. My Mom didn't make quilts but she was an expert hand sewer until rheumatoid arthritis took her hand use away (back then, there was no treatment).
