Andy Cooks and Bakes

Son In Law Andy made Wild Rice Soup to be served in bread bowls.

I asked for my bread on the side.

It was really good soup...and the bread was excellent!  The soup had chicken, chicken broth, wild rice, potatoes, carrots, bacon and cheese.

Andy cooks and bakes. These are buns...delicious.

  1. The soup sounds wonderful. I would want my bread on the side too, with butter. Yum.

  2. What kind of bread did he use for the bread bowls?

  3. Oh yum!! A good wild rice soup is something special. So is homemade bread. I've reached that point again lately where I'm sick of my own cooking, but other than grilling meat my husband doesn't cook. So I was thrilled to have my sons-in-law both do a lot of the cooking last weekend.

  6. Does Andy follow a recipe for the soup or does he just 'throw' things together? It looks so yummy and I'm always on the lookout for a new kind of soup to make.

  7. It looks like a great soup with those ingredients. I have never had soup in a bowl even though we have been to Panera so many times. Andy looks like a master in the kitchen. It is fun to cook.

  10. Anonymous, I think he had a partial recipe in mind and then made it his own from there.

  12. That soup looks so delicious! I love to start with a soup recipe and see what else is in the frig, too! I thought I was the only one who would rather have bread on the side. I will never turn down a bread bowl, but I would rather have my bread (with butter) separate. I think I just enjoy the broth on it's own. Andy is a double threat, a chef and a baker!
