Marbles

 Haven't lost my marbles yet.

It has been a busy week helping my parents go through "stuff" ... they gave me some marbles.

The afternoons have been sunny and warm, June the snowbank is melting.

We will have a winner soon.

I imagine it was an interesting project going through your folks stuff. Especially with their help. My mom had passed and Dad was in a nursing home when we cleaned out the house...the most interesting thing was Dad's tax return from 1948.
Goodbye June.

Oh man, Connie...what a hard job, going through your parents' things. I wonder who the marbles will go to, once your kids start going through your things one day? *lol* This is why we're donating, throwing out, or burning most of our "things"....I want to stop the hand-me-down cycle right here! Be that right or be that wrong, it's how we're handling it. My thoughts are with you, for sure. ~Andrea xoxo

Bright marbles! June the snow bank really doesn't want to leave you. It's a nice, windy day here. I tried to do some weeding but even though we've had a lot of rain our horrible soil is too dry and hard. I'll have to wait until it rains again.

Yes, I do think June will be gone before June! Our cool weather has continued but...it is predicted that we will be in the 90s all next week! That is a typical big temperature jump for us.

I used to have lots of marbles as a kid. I wish I still had them. I also collected bottle caps. Good riddance to June the snowbank! Did your folks have a house in town or in the country. Are they going to sell it? Just nosy. I'm glad they are doing so well.

As the one who stayed in our small town, I have gone through a lot of stuff. Mountains of stuff. My dad was getting ready to move to assisted living when I went through his stuff. I found a stash of old photos (early 1900's) that I did not know existed. Included was his parent's wedding picture. A few days later he told me it was his dad and his two wives. He was right. After my grandmother and her brother both died in the 1950's, my grandfather married his sister in law who was the matron of honor at his wedding.

It's a big job helping people dispose of most of their possessions. Some of these things they've had for a lifetime. You feel guilty about getting rid of them. another huge job is being executor of an estate.

We are going to be in 90s so your are going to have some warm days. I don't envy your helping with the parents home. I did two of them and then had to do my own for the move.

Hope your folks are doing fine in their new place. Hey...you guys can play marbles now! Fun huh? June is looking pretty thin these days. Hope she's totally gone soon!

I have an old squat crystal vase that is filled up with marbles! It makes a very pretty decoration :)

My MIL used to collect marbles and sell them. She made some incredible money doing it.

I hope to de-stuff my place before I have to move, but we never know what the next day really brings do we?

I bet there are a lot of neat things.

I told my son just to have auctions if I am still here at the farm ... sigh.

Good luck.

Marbles are cool. I never was any good at the game, but like the marbles themselves.

Those are pretty marbles. I had some when I was younger, but I never played with them. That was for the boys. :-)

Old marbles are so cool!! I have a few stored away, somewhere. I never got into the game as a kid, but I've lost my marbles a time or too ;)
