Mosaic Crochet Update

My Geometrics CAL is coming along.  I have the  body of the blanket finished and I am starting on the border.  I laid it on the pinball machine for a photo!

The last section was a real slog to get through.  After my ends were knotted and trimmed I felt relieved

( they will all be enclosed in the border)

I have begun the base stitches for the border.  It is a process.

The red slip stitches are formed along the edges...and they show up like this on the back

Nice neat little stitches along the edge on the back, the border will be formed on the front and then on the  back and then the two will be joined...it is called an envelope border.

I work on this project downstairs as a certain kitty and puppy like my yarn. :)

I started this project back in October and although I didn't get it finished by Feb 1 as I had hoped I did make progress!

It doesn't matter how long it takes - it is the doing that is enjoyable. Looking at it in years to come is just the afterglow.

It's really beautiful. All of the different intricate designs must have been tricky.

Your are a Jedi Master when it comes to this creation. I could see your relief from all the work and the great accomplishment you have done. You need to put your feet up and rest for half a day and then get back to work on something else. (:

That blanket is a masterpiece! What an heirloom that will be. You do such beautiful work. Congratulations on such an enormous project. I can't wait to see the border...it's almost like a quilt binding but crochet.

It is beautiful and looks so warm! You really amaze me at the huge projects you take on - - - and then always finish. I get overwhelmed by huge projects with the exception being inside house painting. That doesn't bother me and I can get it done fairly easily.

I just showed it to my husband, who has an appreciation for hand work of any kind. He said "Wow", and all of that since October!

I have to say this mosaic crocheting you have started has me enthralled.
I see someone up above has called you a Jedi Master....agreed.
I am now going to look up a crochet term for that rank.
How amazingly beautiful and yes an heirloom and art as well.
Beautiful work.

But you started the border at the first of February and with that intricate pattern, it is amazing progress! It is an amazingly gorgeous blanket. I would never be able to make one like that. You are so talented.
Is it cold up there? We're below zero tonight and like an idiot, I only wore a sweater to Bible study this evening. I have no idea what I was thinking when I got in the car, but the garage wasn't cold! Ha!
Blessings,
Betsy
