Nothing better than kids growing up on a farm and finding ways to entertain themselves.
Far Guy’s Grandma Tracie marked these photos. The one above is marked 4 1/2 years.
This one is marked five years. Far Guy’s Dad would have been five years old in the summer of 1919. I don’t think that Ronald born in March of 1918 would be old enough to be in the photos…unless Grandma was off by a year then it is possible. That is the old barn in the background.
The wagon looks to be outfitted with a steering wheel of some sort and a wooden crate. I am not sure what the lampshade thing on top could be.
I bet these two went on some real adventures.
Wonderful old photos ! I grew up on a farm as well and soo glad I did . I miss it now though, all the animals and chores yes I like mucking out stalls I know I am weird . I have a wild animal farm now though lol and love it . Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteSuch adorable and precious photos.
ReplyDeleteI think farm kids were much better adjusted than city kids. those two look like they would have been quite adventurous.
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely precious pictures. And it didn't take much in those days to play for hours, I'll bet. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo cute, especially the lampshade topper on the wagon car. Can just imagine the fun they had!
ReplyDeleteWe use to love visiting our grandmother's farm in Oklahoma when we were kids.
ReplyDeleteLove these old photos! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThose active little farm boys ... I bet they did have many adventures out there!
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of a cartoon on PBS called "Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks"
ReplyDeleteThe trio in the cartoon ride a contraption called the "Raloo Rocket". :)

fabulous photos!!
ReplyDeleteWish I could go back with my grand's to my grandfathers farm.
ReplyDeleteMe and a cousin have so many good memories there , poor little kids today are just city bred.
Great photos!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a treasure that you have these.
ReplyDeleteGreat memories and wonderful creativity.
What amazing photos!
ReplyDeleteKids made lots of fun and were never bored. Great story with the photos.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful photos. I am amazed that they had a camera but some people loved to try out new inventions. I remember having a photo of my mom and her brother and they both had cameras with some one else with a camera taking their photo.
ReplyDeletePriceless pictures!! Even 40 years later we had to think up our own entertainment. "Use your brains! Think of something to do." "Go outside and play" was what we heard. They were just starting to come out with toys that kind of did the thinking for you, but my folks wouldn't spend money on such nonsense--LOL! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is so cute and so fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! So cute those 2!
