Closer Look

This week I saw.

Hummingbird resting

A Hummingbird resting on a branch.

Spider and a bee

A Golden Crab Spider on a Daisy along with “the catch” awaiting another.

One peony is better than none

My peonies first bloom in many years…yes just one flower but a well appreciated one.

  1. Great shots - especially the hummingbird; wow! I have enough problems getting clear shots of the family, let alone creatures like that. Very impressed.

  2. Nice photos! I'm really into spiders this year. Yellow Corn Spider is still alive and well and eating her but burritos just off the deck!

  8. Beautiful photos, but I'll pass on admiring the spider for too long: I'm not a fan of arachnids.

  9. Is that what those creepy spidies are called? I've always wondered...and stayed away from them, lol.

    1. Yes it was, it seems he can turn a golden yellow color slowly to get lost in the Goldenrods:)

  13. Hummingbirds love Minnesota. I had forgotten how late the peony blooms in comparison to the ones south of you. It is a great looking red peony.

  18. Incredible shot of the hummer. We enjoyed hummingbirds so much at Nalley Valley. Rarely do we see them here. That's a lovely color of peony.
Wishing you both a nice weekend. Hugs to Chance.

  21. I've never seen a "golden crab spider" before...fascinating and good looking for a spider! I love peonies but mine hasn't bloomed in several years here. Yours is so pretty...love that color! Down here they call them pe-onys...like ponies but with a long "e" and emphasis on the "e"...pee-onys...I had no idea what they were talking about! LOL!
