June 12, 2014

Yesterday we made a huge kettle of vegetable soup, it will keep us in food for days.  Far Guy is an excellent sous chef.   We rested, watched movies, had many naps then we went to the sauna.  We sat for a long time just outside of the sauna watching it rain.

Nothing better than home made soup for what ails a person. I'm sure the sauna is helping also as well as the naps and just taking it easy. Lovely picture of the Columbine.

Soup is also easy to make, keeps for awhile and gets better with age. Glad you are both on the mend! :-)

Such pretty flowers in your garden. Take it gently.

Please no BIG cooking ventures though! The vegetable soup sounds so good for what ails you. The liquid a welcome addition and the veggies so good for your nutrition. Just please take it easy and do a little at a time. So glad that you felt good enough for a blog.

That's a lovely shot. Hope you're getting your strength back.

You both need days like that to feel better. Pretty columbine. Visited a pottery shop last week and the owner/artist had picked wildflowers to put in all the vases.

Sounds like the perfect way to spend a day to me! Hope you're getting stronger every day.

What a great update to hear from you. You aren't over-extending your energy level and are doing all the right things. I hate you are both sick - - but the good part of that is that you both know how the other one is feeling and can empathize. Sleeping when sick is some of the very, very best sleep to me. No guilt about it; no schedule; and you can actually feel some healing taking place. Is Chance washing dishes? That's all that's left to do!!

Glad you both are taking care of yourselves and getting better. The Lady Slippers are beautiful. Poppy came home from turkey hunting one year with a wild Lady Slipper he dug from the woods...which is against the law. He did not know that. I tried my best to get it to grow, but it did not survive. I felt terrible!

I am so glad to hear that you are back home and resting. You really scared me! I hope both of you have nothing but sunshine and improving health coming your way.

With a huge pot of homemade vegetable soup, it sounds like you two are taking good care of yourselves. Here's hoping you get better before you tire of all that resting up!

Soup is good food. And vegetable beef is my specialty as well. Of course chicken noodle for curing most ills according to mom when I was growing up....;)

It is time for the two of you to mellow out so you can hit the lakes next month and float around on the water. Some sunshine and rest is the best thing and acting like your retired might help too. Take care.

It sounds like you are behaving yourselves and following doctor's orders.

Connie, I'm so sorry that you have been sick, and in the hospital, but I am trying to catch up with everyone now.

Take good care of yourself, take it easy, and rest as much as you can. Thank goodness the weather is better and you can recuperate outside if you like.

Hugs to you, Jen

I love soup any time of the year. It is good to have a big vat of it around for when you're not feeling the best and don't want to cook. And nice that you have a good sous chef. ;)
I love columbine. Just the shape, color, delicacy--all of their presentation is quite artful.
