Summer is finally officially here. My husband says he wants a “do over” for June because the days are going so fast.
On one of our evening drives we found a wonderful patch of Blug Flag Iris blooming.
Iris versicolor a Native to Minnesota plant. I took this one near another patch on the banks of the Shell River, the water makes a beautiful backdrop.
Such a pretty flower!
I think I would like a do over too, there are way too many Wild Flowers to photograph in June!

That second photo of the irises with the water behind is pretty enough to be a painting.
Gorgeous photos!
Such beautiful wildflowers.
Just beautiful, as you said. Since it's native to Minnesota, I need you to share it with me in pictures! Lovely flower. :-)
I agree, there are so many beautiful wildflowers in June. When on our drives it just make me smile to see them.
They are beautiful and I found them. Thanks for the tip - my favorite color!
Those iris are lovely!
The do-over sounds like a great idea--LOL!
Such pretty wildflowers. Enjoy your weekend. :)
That shade of blue in the Iris is beautiful and especially against the water. I am all for a do-over too. and where did May go! Once July 4th is past I start looking forward to fall. The hot humid weather here is July and August is awful.
June this year in Michigan has changed itself so many times that it's difficult to know what month it really is. Flowers are blooming though and sometimes it's not too wet or too cold or too hot and we can actually enjoy them
Beautiful!
I do love blue flag but doubt we have one in Fillmore County as there are NO lakes here and sloughs and marshes are gone due to everything being tiled...:(
Your iris shots are fantastic. I remember having an iris that I cultivated from a swamp grow next to the cabin I lived in.
You have some of the most beautiful plants up there in the woods!
Are you going to do submissions for the calendar again. That shot with the river in the background is GORGEOUS - - - as are most of your photos.
Your husband would probably like the back up pill that would make him 21 again.
Summer has arrived here too. We hardly know what to do in such sunshine. ( it reached 26C today 78F).
Such a beautiful wildflower! I used to see native iris (flags) growing up in Oregon. but I never see them around here. Too citified, I guess.
I wouldn't mind starting June over either. this best of all months IS going too fast!
Beautiful pictures!!!
The two photos with the river background are beautiful! We have just returned from Oliver and on that trip we noticed so many wildflowers. Grasses too of all different varieties.
love these pretty photos, Connie.
Simply gorgeous and nary a human hand involved!
