Phoebe moves

Youngest Grandson Adam moved into his own apartment and one evening after work he came and got Phoebe and moved all her stuff too...I imagine she was quite vocal all night.

Adam rescued her from the Humane Society a few years ago.

She is a nice kitty...a talker...she let us know when something wasn't quite right and was a good mouser.  Sometimes she brought her catch into the house...dead...sometimes quite alive.  I bet she will miss the doggie door into the garage.

Hiding

Phoebe ( Grandson Adam's cat) is hidden from Sadie.

All snuggled up in a basket in the craft room.  The basket is on top of a desk so this hiding spot should be safe for a bit.

Sadie can jump on the couch now...that used to be Phoebe's safe spot.

Yesterday it was a cold day, we left for an appointment and there were sun dogs out...very bright sun dogs.  So without consulting a thermometer I knew it was cold.  After a few errands we stayed in hiding also. AND today it is supposed to be even colder the weatherman said -50 windchills...uffda....good thing we have no place to be and we can hide all day today too.

Sadie: 12 weeks old

Sadie is a character.  She keeps us all entertained.  She attacks the cat Phoebe and Little Elvis with wild abandon.  She does a death roll with Little Elvis hair...he gets after her but she doesn't give up. Sometimes her name is Sadie Monster and most of the time Sadie NO.   She is persistent but will give up after about five No commands.   Sometimes she gives up by sitting and barking sharply as if to say "Well ok but I am not happy with you!"

Her potty training is going well, she goes to the patio door to be let out...most of the time.   At twelve weeks old her potty training is going as good as I expected.  She walks well on a leash and knows the command sit.  We are working on "off" and she doesn't like "down" at all.   She comes most of the time when called.

Don't let those sweet sad eyes fool you.

Sadie is as big as the cat now.

I am positive that Phoebe was raised someplace that had puppies because she puts up with more puppy foolishness than any cat I have ever known.  AND sometimes she asks for it...she runs away from Sadie and then plops down a few feet away...and the game is on again.

Puppy Dog Eyes

Do not let these sad puppy dog eyes fool you, underneath this exterior is a saber toothed monster.  She will bite anyone or anything at anytime.  It is her mission as a puppy!

She is not biting me here because I put her inside the toy basket.

So she started to bite the toy basket.

She bites Little Elvis and Phoebe...bits of hair in her mouth do not bother her at all.  She admires Phoebes ability to jump out of reach...I expect that will change soon....she can almost jump up on the couch.

She is great entertainment!  Potty training is going quite well, she goes to the patio door most of the time to be let out.  She  is a work in progress.

Far Guy is a tiny bit better today, he had a long nap and irritated me during supper...pushed my corn into my rice on my plate.  He knows I don't like my food touching!  Andy cooked last night ...Burrito bowls...pulled pork, black beans, rice, corn, cheese all in the same bowl with chips.

We had a quiet New Years Day.  It was -37 F or -38 C eh in the morning New Years Day....what a way to start the year!

A thought

No Christmas Cards yesterday so we will revisit one from the day before.

" The ornament of a house is the people who frequent it."  Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803 - 1882

We had an intruder in the back yard Wednesday morning.  Phoebe ( Adam's cat) was not happy with the company that came to visit her.  All is well that ends well, she is fine and hopefully the neighborhood is also as I went outside barefoot in my nightgown to shoo the intruder away.  Probably wrecked any invitation for coffee and cookies.

Grocery Day

Grocery Day was a day early this week.   Far Guy and I went to a Wally World that is a bit out of town ( there are two in the area) and is not as busy.  You can socially distance easily and we wore masks.  Heinz 57 Steak Sauce was not on the shelves,  or heavy cream so Far Guy got the half and half.  He rode a cart throughout the store...I didn't feel guilty at all sending him off for items.  It was his first day out of the house since last Thursday.

We got home, disinfected everything, washed fruit and then we made soup.  This weeks soup was Italian Sausage, Chicken Broth and Potatoes, you brown the sausage, add the broth and the diced potatoes and let it cook in a slow cooker all afternoon.  Shortly before serving you add about a cup of half and half and a big handful of baby spinach...yummy. After you ladle it into bowls you add bacon bits. There are left overs in the fridge.  You can add other stuff..onion...celery...but I do not.

We don't spend any time in this rocking chair.  The kitty Phoebe and Little Elvis like our company during the day!  Some nights Little Elvis sleeps with us...sometimes not..it all depends on who his favorite person is at the moment!

Phoebe

Phoebe belongs to  our youngest grandson Adam.   But then again who really owns a cat.

Phoebe is vocal...sometimes she sounds downright sad.   If something isn't to her liking she whines.

They lock her in a series of three rooms for the night...craft room, laundry room and bathroom...because otherwise she caterwauls at 4 AM.

When you open the door in the morning...she is out of there like she has been shot from a cannon!  I know this from first hand experience.

She is a beauty!  A Calico beauty.  Adam rescued her from the animal shelter.
