Monday Stuff

I try to start out Mondays with everything in place for the week.  Menus made and lists made for groceries and special things that should be done over the week.

Of course a person should be a bit flexible with the weather etc...and stuff that pops up that goes on the "to do list."

Lawn mowing is done for the week...trimming is not...nor is Poison Ivy removal and Thistle removal.  All things country that creep up on me.

Horses and a wagon....I think some young men were getting driving lessons.

We have just a few medical appointments this week...so far only four.  My kind of week.

Monday stuff on Tuesday

We thought we had an early appointment yesterday...and then it was cancelled.  So we are tired.  Far Guy was up at 5AM...me about 6AM...I am so not a morning person.

Then for my afternoon appointment we had to wait over an hour.  As I was going up to the desk to find out if there was a death in the Ultrasound Dept I was ever going to get called, the gal finally showed up.  The diagnosis...I have a cyst in my right boob that the Radiologist saw on my Mammogram and he was concerned.  Now he can sleep better as he was a real pest about it all.  He wanted another mammogram and I refused since I am black and blue from the one last week...so he settled for an ultrasound.

We did the weekly grocery shopping and came home and had a nap.

I worked on some cards and started painting some Christmas Ornaments....I think this first part will look just fine.  Part two is still in development stages ( still in my brain.)

Far Guy is back on steroids for his shortness of breath.

The Clematis has spread over to the wagon wheel!

Unplanned Spring Cleaning

Late Sunday afternoon I was awakened by a commotion in the bathroom.  Far Guy was cussing the old plunger that we got back in the 1980’s.  I know it is not from the 1970’s as that one had a burned handle from the time it was used to roll a log in the wood furnace.  He went to the garage for bigger more impressive clog removing tools, snakes and a power driven whatchamacallit.

I had been very sound asleep…so I had a bit of a brain fog…but assisted him anyway…even calling for a new plunger which was swiftly delivered by my great niece and nephew, Anna and Mason next door.

That plunger had no results either…something was really amuck.  Finally the water alarm went off in the furnace/laundry room as water came backwards through the floor drain.  The kids left with their plunger and reported back to their Dad ( My Nephew) that we had real problems.  I called my other baby brother and as I was telling Far Guy how to by pass the float…Far Guy was recalling it himself…the lift station lifted…and the water receded down the floor drain.   The float was bad…I disinfected the floor once before supper and once after supper.

Monday morning my nephew Josh came over, then my other baby brother came over…they developed a plan and at the end of the day we had a working lift station again…complete with a new float.

In order to have an area to work in the washer/dryer had to be moved, and in order to move it we removed the wire shelving unit from the wall…the kitchen was full of stuff.  Piece by piece I washed all the shelving whilst the guys were “fixing.” When they were done, I scrubbed the floor again…and we put the shelves together and all “the stuff” was put back in place.

On the positive side:

Part of that room has been spring cleaned!

The lift station is only for the lower level of our home.  The upstairs bathroom has it’s own separate sewage line…so we were never without a bathroom or a shower.

After a full day I had a four hour nap, I am a good napper… stress makes me really sleepy.

Monday Morning Wars

We usually have a Monday morning meeting. Far Guy, Chance and I ..to get things lined up for the week and to get on the same page. We really slept this morning..day light saving time just makes me sleepy and cranky. How can one hour mess up your inner clock so much? I feel like I have been drug through a knot hole backwards.

My brother heard a Robin.. his wife "she who see Robins before me every Spring" has not seen it yet. She will either call me right away..or wait until I finally see one and then when I call her..she will say "Well I saw one hours ago." With my new eyes..maybe I have a fighting chance..let the Robin wars begin!

This is day number nine with no sunshine. Here is a photo from a few weeks ago..do you notice anything strange? Besides the blue skies?
It is a squirrel nest. The squirrel and Chance are having wars..Chance chases the squirrel away from the bird feeder. The squirrel waits for Chance to come inside and then he swoops down out of the trees and happily fills his fat cheeks. If I bang on the kitchen window..he is off like a flash.

The birds mainly Chickadees and Nut Hatches ( Ass- Ups) are the only birds at our feeder during the winter. They will happily feed at the feeder with Chance laying on the patio on squirrel watch. I think that Chance must be viewed as a hero to these little birds:)
