Retriever

Far Guy and I have never had a retriever in our lives before Sadie.  The instinct to retrieve something/anything is very strong.

Like one morning recently, she came downstairs to say good morning and walked past Far Guy and went to the laundry room and got a fuzzy sock for him just in case he needed it.

She has a container full of toys and has many favorites. We should have taught her to put away her toys!

Here she would like to retrieve part of the lunch Far Guy was having.

I have both of my crocs at the moment!

  3. I have had lots of laughter at the things our retriever brought us back in the day.

  4. Our older daughter has 2 goldens, and they are both so charming and loveable. The older dog Samson doesn't do much "retrieving" around the house, but the younger one does. Newt is a sock thief in particular, especially dirty socks, and even has swallowed them. Once that required surgery at the emergency vet clinic. The kids are now trained to NOT leave socks laying around. LOL Gotta love those fur babies.

  5. A person would think Sadie just loves being near Far Guy - - - if you hadn't mentioned the lunch - - but we do know she loves his company - - with or without food.
Have you tried any Oofos shoes or sandals? Catch them ON SALE if possible. I was impressed with how quickly they took the pressure off my knees and the big toe joint. I got some that are like slippers but also indoor/outdoor. However I stay in socks or flat slippers inside the house for the majority of the day. It is difficult to find anything comfortable enough to wear all the time. Even before I retired over ten years ago, I was changing shoes at least once a day. However - - - no complaints. I am still upright on both feet.

  8. Dogs are a lot smarter than we think. For people like me, dogs train us not we train dogs.

  13. It's amazing what dogs can do. I am a cat person but I don't believe I have ever seen a cat bring me a sock! haha
