The high yesterday was 1F or -17C...and the low was -17F or -27C eh! We did not go outside. No need to go anyplace. We hear it may warm up by the weekend. Schools were two hours late...other than that things ran as normal.
Photo of a Jack Pine cone that I took a number of years ago.
Far Guy is working on some of his wood carving projects. I crocheted for awhile and then had a nap.
Supper last night ( Tuesday) was comfort food; pork roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, roasted carrots and fresh strawberries and kiwi.
Monday evening Jen and Andy took us to Harry's Steakhouse for Far Guy's birthday and of course we had steak!
Sadie is very happy that her people are back, perhaps a little less happy when they gave her a bath:)
Far Side
That is beyond Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteLooks cold. Brrr. Same here. Not much happening.

ReplyDeleteI agree. These temperatures mean time to hibernate! I need to think dinner. Maybe a pork roast in the crock pot!
ReplyDeleteBirthday steak sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteThe wind chill warnings just keep getting extended day after day. Glad you could stay inside and enjoy comfort food. :)
It’s so cold there. You have my sympathy. You are prepared though. I’m not. My feet are cold and even my bones.
ReplyDeleteYour cold sounds much like ours. I don't plan to out much either until Friday when it's supposed to be warmer. Actually, I'm enjoying my time at home. I love staying here. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
The cold can disappear any time it wants to.
ReplyDeleteIt's not often that we down here are as cold as you up there, but that was us and still is! Both meals sound very good to me. Ah, poor Sadie :)
ReplyDeleteMom says I need a bath!! I HATE BATHS!!!! Boo Berry
ReplyDeleteYour comfort food supper sounds delicious! I'm definitely ready for some warmer temperatures too. It was -12 when I left this morning to get my oil changed.
ReplyDeleteYou all cook some yummy food. It sure helps to have plenty who know how to cook. Do you ever wonder how people back in pioneer days made it through the winters without the modern conveniences we have now?
ReplyDeleteOur school was virtual yesterday though was on time and in session today. I suspect based on the forecast, it might be virtual tomorrow too or at least delayed starting.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here too.....9 this morning but it's supposed to be in the 60's next week....stay warm!
ReplyDeleteCR's kids had 2 hour delay but still had classes. We had snow yesterday. That pork roast sounds yummy!
Your comfort food does sound comforting. Now I'm hungry.
ReplyDeleteHow is Harry's steak house, in your opinion? I had to work in that cold weather, so cold it makes your skin burn. Dee
ReplyDeleteIt was excellent food:)
DeleteHang in there, it's almost over! We have a good couple of weeks of above freezing weather coming, hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you went out to the steakhouse for far guy's birthday dinner. Sounds you are now keeping busy and staying warm inside. Good idea!
ReplyDeleteI do so hope that this winter will be over soon. It sure has been a cold and snowy one in many parts. I don't want to come home to it.
ReplyDeleteFunny Sadie, some pups enjoy water, she apparently doesn't.
Stay warm!
It's nice that you can stay indoors where it's warm and cozy.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to have comfort food at home, or be taken out dinner.
