March Snowstorm

We had a dilly of a snowstorm.  It began with rain then it turned to sleet and then snow.  The sleet made music on the windows.

We had 10 inches of snow at the snowstick before the storm, now we have 19 inches at the snowstick.  This was such a heavy snow I am sure it sunk sank decreased in measurement some…I will guess we had 12+ inches of snow.

Chance March 5 Snowstorm

Here Chance is walking in a tire track on the way to the mail box. (She who sees Robins first  went to work, or my other baby brother went out.)  Our drive way had no tire track and it was hard walking…just lifting our boots that high was an effort. We made a path and the return trip was easier.  The old Border Collie kept laying down to clean off the pads of his feet.

House in Snowstorm March 5

Toward evening my other baby brother and nephew came to plow us out.

19 inches at the snow stick

The shoveling began and will continue.  We are supposed to get more snow through Tuesday.  If one had energy after shoveling this would be snowball fight snow or maybe even a snowman.

Wow, that is a lot of snow. I cannot imagine what it would be like. It looks beautiful but would be so much work. It is still very warm here in Aus. but our autumn is here although it is still much warmer than usual for March.

I'd love to have that much snow in one go! We did get a decent amount last week... Even got to keep it for a few days... But nothing like yours.

My grandboys are home on their second Snow Day in a row today so have hit most of the state. Chance looks so pretty in the snow.

The snow started here around 5:00PM yesterday. we lucked out and only received about3 inches. But boy, is it ever wet and heavy. After helping hubby shovel this morning i felt like I was having a heart attack. The sold body just can't take a snowfall that is wet and heavy anymore. Now the plow came thru and left a mess at the end of our driveway. UGHHHH

I thought about your friend the other day when I saw a robin. She will always be "She Who Sees Robins First" to me. That's a LOT of snow. :-)

We saw Robins too! My hubby said that it must snow on Robins 3 times. Odd. I had to shovel a path for the puppy to find a potty place! LOL! He didn't like the snow at all, it was over his head.

Spring snows are filled with water and are difficult to shovel. I'm glad your other baby brother and nephew plowed your drive for you and Far Guy.

Seems like the big blizzards always arrive in March when everyone's tired of winter. Hang in there!

Yes a lot of snow - it was hard here to tell how much with the wind but my guess was up towards the 12" mark also. (somebody didn't agree with me) :) Yeah for my guess on the snow stick!!!

I'm glad we're just getting rain. Our basement sump pumps are working on and off. We may get snow in the next day or two.

How beautiful! If you have no where to go!

So glad you have family to come help with snow removal. We got about 6 inches of fluffy snow, so it wasn't too bad, my push shovel did the job. But I had to push a pee path for little Merle!

I was watching it on radar as my daughter and I are both weather geeks. We were hoping Iowa would get some it! I haven't talked to her yet but I don't think they got as much as you. It was beautiful in your pictures! Makes you feel like a pioneer when you go out in a storm like that.

A few of the seniors here made snowmen apparently. Kids at heart, I guess. It was the perfect heavy, sticky snow for a snowman and I guess they couldn't resist. :) So glad you got plowed out.

Well, we did send this snow but it got much bigger over Manitoba.

I wondered if you got dumped on when I heard that the big storm that was heading to the east coast had hit the upper midwest with snow.

Wow, what a pile of snow. Brave Chance for trailblazing his own way. Twelve inches can be a formidable obstacle for someone his height.

The older I get the less tolerance that I have for winter. When it starts to blow around and I have to go out into it I really get grumpy.
