Henderson MN

Years ago we visited Henderson Minnesota during Sauerkraut Days. There is usually a celebration in June complete with all the sauerkraut you can eat.  I know I ate my share.

On our recent trip to Southern Minnesota…Far Guy asked “How far are we from Henderson?”  We were about twenty miles away and it was only a few miles out of the way.

  1. I hope you were able to find some sauerkraut even though you missed the festival. ;o)

  2. A family town! I love Sauerkraut!!!

  3. Fun! When I was in my high school band, one of the parades we played in was for Sauerkraut Days in Henderson! I went through there a few years back when I took my mother out for a drive. Great photo of the main drag!

  4. We have a Sauerkraut Festival in Waynesville, Ohio also. Always a lot of interesting sauerkraut based foods to try. Lots and lots of arts and crafts, too. I'm guessing Waynesville is named after General "Mad" Anthony Wayne. He was important in early Ohio history.

  5. Looks like a lovely town . I love the farming towns we have here everyone knows of every one and the folk are friendly . Lovely photos . Thanks for sharing , Have a good weekend !

  6. My cousin (also my godmother) married a Henderson in Scotland. He was born in South Africa but was sent for by a Scottish uncle to inherit the estate - which he did. Was a Pathfinder during WWII and died in his late 80s. His son Will now runs the estate. He grows many many carrots. Potatoes too I think.

  7. I was in Henderson NC yesterday. Our Henderson is not nearly as pretty as yours.

  8. I love little towns like the one in your first photo. Did you get to eat sauerkraut this time too? It makes me horribly sick so I never have it.

  9. I'll pass on the sauerkraut, but what a sweet little namesake town! ;)

  10. This area is on my list to visit ~ every Tuesday their population increases by alot they sponsor a "Drive In" where collector car, fun cars etc all pull in for the evening (every tuesday!) for a large car show - They also do a fall finale.

  11. I agree with MTWaggin! I get so homesick for the midwest this time of year.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate your comments! If you have a question I will try to answer it here. Connie
