Chance: My View

Hiya!  It’s me Chance the blogging Border Collie!  Finally my turn.  I have been out and about.  Come on along!

Chance in a tree

I climbed a tree at the park.

Gene and Chance

I went for a walk with my bestest friend across the rusty bridge.

Chance at the Red Bridge

We stopped for a rest at the old red bridge.  Here is a raspberry!

Chance at Straight Lake

One day we went to the lake.  Some of the ice is gone.  I almost got my feet wet.  The ice was singing, the shards of ice were rubbing together making the most beautiful music.  Far Side kept saying “Stay away from the Poison Ivy Berries.”  I tried.  Finally she said “Chance get in the freaking car.”

Chance in the driveway

Everyday I go for a walk down the driveway.  I am a good old boy, at least that is what they say.

They are slowing switching my food to a “light” diet.  They mixed my new food and my old food half and half…but I still had some tummy troubles.  Far Side says she hopes that is in the past because it was no present. ( I threw up outside three times.)

I still have some “ouchy” joints some days…but I still run after the ball.  I am 10 years and 5 months old now.

Far Side says clean teeth are the key to a long life in dogs. She cleans my teeth, she has a friend who is a retired Dentist and he gave her some proper teeth cleaning tools for people but they work on dogs just fine.  I don’t like it very much but Far Side says I need to “Get over it!”  So I do!

Chance, It is nice to see you enjoying the outdoors! You look so handsome. Hope your tummy troubles are over now. You are a good boy to let mom clean your teeth. You keep playing ball and enjoy the spring weather. Happy Easter.

Dear Chance, I hope you send the photo of yourself in the tree to the city forester who hacked off the branches! I feel your "ouchy" joint pains, but I don't run after balls. I think you have a beautiful driveway walk and wouldn't it be great if humans were told they were good old boy or gal more often? It might soften the pain of the "ouchy" joints.

Chance it is so nice to see you enjoying the great outdoors. I think we can all sympathize with you over the "ouch" joint pain - just part of getting older. But at least you still play ball and walk every day. Thanks for all the nice pictures you posted today. Hope your tummy feels better soon.

We are close to the same age, in dog years that is. I know about those achy joints all right, and I gave up chasing balls long ago. :-)

You're still a handsome fellow and I'll bet the sun felt good on those achy joints.

Hey Far Dog! You are so handsome!! Looks like you had a fun day out at the park with the hacked up tree and the over priced bridge!

I hope your ouchies go away and that your smile wins over the lady logs!

We just got laced with more snow and it was just beginning to all melt BOOHOO ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

Sorry to hear about your tummy troubles! We all have aches and pains as we grow older, yes us humans too. Tess is having another litter in about a month, and I will name one of the boys after you. :0)

Hey Chance, This is a nice blog you have made here. Barney says that we are exercising him too much but he has been a lump on the floor all winter. He needs to lose some weight. Your new bridge looks very strong. I bet, in fact, I know that the water is still very cold.

Ice candling sounds are like beautiful music. You hear at least 10 times better than I do so you really enjoy ice candling music.

Good thing you didn't put your feet in that water, Chance. It's still ice cold! At least you can find your balls now without nosing through the snow. Enjoy the spring weather and get your people to take you for lots of walks. You are indeed a good old boy.

Chance, you probably have no idea how terrible a poison ivy rash is -- and the man in our house has had many of them thanks to Squeaker Kitty and the Mollywog, who have gotten into the poison ivy and then rubbed up against him. I bet Far Side does though, and it is no wonder she yelled at you to get in the freaking car!

Yes, you are a good old boy!

Hey Chance, not sure if this applies to your food, but you might ask Farside to read this, it's kind of interesting. Hope you cooperate in the effort to get some weight off, and try not to beg too much for those treats! Looking forward to see the new svelte, you!

Chance - FS sounds like me when I am talking to our grandson some days. He has difficulty staying away from forbidden objects, too. When you are on that log, you look like you are king of the mountain! Tummy troubles are definitely not fun at all - - for the one experiencing them and the one cleaning up after them! It is always wonderful to hear your perspective on life in your cold neck of the woods.
