Last evening we went over to Barb's. The Chief had called on Saturday and gave a message to someone, that "The tree is blooming" needless to say we were four days late..and the heat on Saturday (near 90 degrees) and the wind pretty much took care of the blooms. I got one photo of the blooms. Last year I got some good photos..so I wasn't too disappointed..but I felt that I could improve on the ones I had taken a year ago of the picture tree.
Far Guy is doing OK after his tooth extraction. He does not talk very much. The vibrations from talking causes him pain..your guess is as good as ours as how long this will last. This painful talking has happened before, it usually goes away after a couple of weeks. The jury is still out on the tooth..and the pain from the tooth..if it remains that means that his Trigeminal Neuralgia is bilateral..and is now occurring on both sides of his face..which means double the pain..as if one side wasn't enough. I hate to continually bitch about what a horrendous disease TN is, I wonder what it will take for someone besides me to try to bring it to the light of day. Perhaps it will take someone really famous to be afflicted before this orphan disease gets anymore attention. Far Guy is a real trooper, he keeps plugging away. I am at a loss of what to do..except double the prayers, although some days I am sure that I have used all my prayers up..or God is tired of hearing from me..because no answers seem to be forthcoming.
Far Guy just reported that he has a wildflower for me to look at and that Robins do reuse their nests..as our Mama Robin is back on her nest on the ladder:)

Barbs flowers are so nice. You've got that right - Far Guy really is a trooper! Wish his pain would go away - he sure doesn't complain when we're around. Hang in there.
I'm adding my prayers into yours! I don't understand why no answers or research or interest, but there should be.
Barb's blooms and your photography are lovely. I am praying for Far Guy and for you as well. You two are special friends.
So sorry about Far Guy don't give up on your paryers.
That Lupine is beautiful, I can't grow them here.
Hugs to you both,
What a bummer that is...for all concerned
Lovely flowers (o:
Great pic of you and your folks.
that was a great outing with your sister...sounds so fun
Thanks for the update on his surgery. I do not know how anyone lives with continual pain. I have a high threshold for pain but once it gets hold of me, I get quite irritable - - - or at least that's the impression I get from family!
Give him a big hug from all of us who care so much.
Your Iris is a knockout..that is a stunning blue color, just amazing!!
You and Far Guy are in my thoughts! Doesn't sound fun at all...
Love the flower shots .. hope they serve to soothe your senses.
I am also thinking healing thoughts towards Far Guy. And I love the beautiful blue iris with all my heart...
Nice post ---- yes Barb's garden is a show piece --- no weeds! Beautiful flowers.... Thoughts and prayers always from us to you and Far Guy!
We still keep Far Guy in our prayers.
I guess we will miss the lupines this year. Sometime they are later up around Grand Marais, but I really like them.
lupines! oh i love lupines. i have tried and tried to grow them in my yard to no avail. oh i love them.
I know you know God would never tire from hearing from you, ever. But I do understand feeling like your prayers are tapped out. That is the goodness of a new day eh? A new way to say it.
Gardens are just such a wonderful thing, sorry you missed the honeysuckle tree though. I know how it is when the bloom on a favorite is fleeting.
Oh and your welcome to pull up a comfy chair any ol' day and ask away. I hope to tell their full story soon. Not sure when that will be, sorta like the big day. So for now I just sorta hint around, that is kinda fun in itself!
The flowers are lovely. Hope Far Guy is feeling much better.
I forget about his illness until something like this happens and you blog about it.
