Afghan

 I have a crochet project that is finished.  It has been washed and dried in the dryer.  The yarn washes beautifully.

I used Stylecraft Special DK in all shades of purples and beige.  I used a 3.5mm hook and the pattern is Study of Reality which was a free pattern on Ravelry. 

I learned some new to me stitches with this blanket and I also learned not to go rogue...and when you think there is a problem...stop and re evaluate.   The edges of the blanket tend to roll.  I can do better...but someone will love this blanket someday. 

I had a busy day...some cleaning and dusting happened and some laundry.  Far Guy is feeling better...he still has a nagging cough...he sees his Dr next week for a follow up after his hospital stay.  He is woodcarving most days. 

What's cooking?  Ribs and corn on the cob.  Yummy!

What to do?

 I ran out of yarn. Let me rephrase that I didn’t bring enough yarn with me.  Problem solved as there are two stores that carry yarn here in town.

I like doing the shell stitch, it is easy to do when watching tv. I brought the pink with me and not sure why I only brought one ball.  The blue is the new purchase..same stitch but a little bit larger crochet hook.  Both will be added to my stash of finished blankets.

We had a good day. Far Guy and I went to Wally World and walked around…I needed som new fuzzy socks…I just hate it when the elastic goes bad and the socks slip down my feet. There were a few other things picked up also …all on sale. 

It was a very warm day the high according to our vehicle was 86F. 

We had salad for supper topped with chicken and bacon…pineapple rounded out the meal.

 Nothing new here everything is old....including us.

Saw this on facebook and it made me smile. 

We had a very quiet day with naps.  I did a load of laundry and we made pretzel buns with a hamburger  and cheese topping for supper.

Joining

I joined Far Guy for both of his appointments yesterday.  The morning appointment was unplanned.  He has a vitreous detachment in his left eye.  He will be fine.  Old Age strikes again!

In the afternoon after his last appointment of the day and after a trip by Hobby Lobby  our youngest granddaughter Miss Paige joined us for a late lunch/early supper or lupper. 

Don't you wish you could look that good after coming in from yard work?  We had a good visit!  Paige Graduates on Friday ( North Dakota State School of Science in the Dental Hygienist program)

Galla Creek asked how I join my odds and ends of yarn.  This may not be the right way but it works for me.  The knot is easily hidden amongst the stitches.

Crochet and Flu Report

 I finished the section that is called Baubles.  I would call them ornaments.   It was part 7 of 9. 

Now I am working on part 8...called Dala Horse.  It has 31 rows...I debated if I wanted horses in my blanket and decided to just go with the flow and stick to the designers pattern.  I will slog through the pattern row by row.  

Andy got the stomach flu over the weekend.  He is feeling better after a couple of days and is back to work.  Far Guy and I have escaped it so far.  Knock on wood or what ever  good luck charm may work.

Crochet Progress

 I am still working on the Nordic Mosaic Crochet.  One more design is complete.

Part six the Nordic Trees are completed and work has begun on part seven called Nordic Baubles. 

The pattern has nine parts. It is slow going. 

This week is appointment week, we have appointments everyday but Friday.  We had to pick the coldest week out of the winter to go out everyday. 

The last day of January is upon us and we are gaining a bit of sunlight everyday.
