Our eldest daughter Trica and her beau have two dogs. They are well behaved and very good therapy for Jerry who has suffered six strokes since early Summer. The Doctors are not finding the cause very quickly. Jerry talks slower, thinks a long time on some things and his sense of taste is whacky...he liked anything with peaches, sauerkraut, eggs and lemonade other than that all food tasted the same.

Chase really like me...and I really liked him. Lexie liked to be petted and liked treats...but was not as calm and chill as Chase.
It was fun to have dogs to pet again.
Far Side
I like anything with peaches, sauerkraut, eggs and lemonade too. But having everything else taste the same sounds like a nightmare. I hope they can figure out an answer.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Praying the doctors can determine the cause of the strokes soon. Still praying for your SIL. RHill, TX
ReplyDeleteLook at the beautiful autumn colors in your wooded area where those happy dogs are walking. It hurts my heart for Jerry to have those health problems. A normal life can get snatched away very quickly. Praying he has no more issues and the cause can be found. They sound like they have a good relationship and are happy from the little I have read. So glad you all have had a nice visit.
ReplyDeletePoor Jerry - I do hope the doctors find a cause soon and can help resolve the problem. That many strokes must be frustrating and worrisome.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dogs!
Oh dear, poor Jerry, that's awful. I hope they can figure this out. The doggies though, therapeutic!
ReplyDeleteDogs are amazing. They calm any situation and show love even when mistreated. They seem to know good folks from mean ones! Glad Trica came to visit with Jerry plus the dogs.
ReplyDeleteDoggies are THERAPEUTIC for everyone! YAY!
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to medical issues, the worst can be not knowing WHY.
ReplyDeleteDoggies do help. As do kitties.
GD Kate hosted Thanksgiving and her very large Black Lab "Maple" wandered around looking hopefully at each person wondering if there might be a tidbit dropped. She did not beg though (lest she be put in exile). I love patting her.
ReplyDeletePrayers for Jerry's recovery. That does sound like quite the menu.
ReplyDeleteIt is awful to not be able to enjoy food that once tasted good. I keep reminding myself, "Just remember how lucky you were to enjoy them when they taste good." I don't know whether the cause is old age or the chemo I get one week out of every six. But I am still here and good things still happen that I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteFun doggies.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the health issues. So much to manage.
I wish your son in law a rapid recovery.
ReplyDeleteSuch nice photos of the dogs
ReplyDeletePraying for Jerry. Dogs are very good therapy.
ReplyDeleteHaving those strokes is scary enough, but not being able to pin point the cause just adds more worry to the situation. Hope the doctors figure it out for him. Petting dogs is so soothing. I enjoy getting plenty of Doggy Love at both of my daughters' houses.
ReplyDeleteLD...Having had one stroke in 2019 I can understand the changes going on in the body. I am never going to return completely and yet I do so many things now as I had before. I scurry up and down our basement stairs. I couldn't go downstairs at first. My taste comes and goes on certain days. I know if I can't taste the coffee or fried eggs that it will be a strange day. For me time and God was the healer. I have folded over two thousands paper cranes now and I remember and repeat it with ease now.
