Clouds and other stuff

We noticed some strange clouds on our drive last night.

Clouds like bubbles

The cloud looked like it had a bad case of the bubbles.

Clouds Aug 27 2016

It is starting to get dark earlier.  We saw four deer on our trip around the block.

We had a quiet day at home on Saturday. I did laundry, scrubbed the tile floor in the living room area on my hands and knees, I am getting too old for hands and knees so part of it was sitting down scrubbing.  We have a steamer but there is nothing better than a really clean floor.  I painted some of the Christmas ornaments.  Far Guy woodcarved out in the woodshop and Chance stalked his favorite Chippy. He had a hold of it’s tail once and then let it go…after all if he catches it the fun will be all over.

Mammatus are most often associated with the anvil cloud and also severe thunderstorms. They often extend from the base of a cumulonimbus, but may also be found under altocumulus, altostratus, stratocumulus, and cirrus clouds, as well as volcanic ash clouds.

Great photos of the clouds.

Way to go, Chance! Catch and release is a good policy.

You're right about doing floors on your hands and knees being the best way to do it, but I'm too old, so it's the steamer for me.

I need to do my floors also. For me it's finding the time. Always it seems once the floor is clean it rains...sigh!

I was going to say mammatus.....but you have another weather geek that beat me to it. They are really cool looking. I've never seen any in person. Not too often you do see them.
There's nothing like getting your floor clean by hands and knees. I have hard time as there are some big floors here so the big ones get the mop but the bathrooms get the hands and knees. I have yet to find a mop that can get corners without pushing all the gook into them. How do you like your steamer mop? I've thought about one but I have an O'Cedar that has a spray on the front but those pads get dirty fast and they still tend to push it around. Good for you getting some things done! I mowed yesterday and that took most of my energy.

The cloud looks like a cold front moving in?

We like the steamer just fine but I think it could clean the grout better...hence the hands and knees scrubbing. I hate a mop cause you never get the corners:(

Yes, those clouds usually portend a storm coming. They are mammatus clouds and look a little like the cloud sprouted boobies! :-)

Wow, that is one black cloud. I've never seen one quite like it. And in case I ever do see one, I now know what to call it!

Awesome cloud! I do some sit scrubbing from time to time, too. My knees usually protest.

You are a hard working woman!! A quiet day involves doing laundry, scrubbing the floor on hands and knees, painting some ornaments and I'll bet after that you still had to make supper. After you decided what to make.

You’re calling that a ‘quiet’ day? That’s a very industrious day in my book.

That cloud looks like it might have indigestion, it might do a big belch at any moment.

I knew they were mammatus because they reminded me of "mammary glands" - ha! We had some here not long ago in Duluth.

Very unusual clouds. We are seeing tiny hints of Autumn here. Mornings are very pleasant for a change. I dread having to walk Theo when it begins to get dark so early.
I wish you all a good evening. Hi to Chance!

They are amazing. I am so behind on comments. Button is bad and we are taking the best care we can give him considering.
