If you all recall my word for the year was "Be."
Being thankful for those in my life is a big part of that...my husband, my daughters, my Grands, my Greats my sister, my brothers and my sisters in law.
Yesterday we went out for lupper with my brothers and their brides...it was a tad chilly out on the patio of our favorite Mexican place...but the food was great and the company a blessing!
I am trying to be more organized...you know small things...like too many clothes in the closet that I have not worn in a couple of years. I found sweaters that I could not recall! Some made it into bags and donated to the DAV boxes in town...they take only shoes and clothing.
Then I was able to straighten out my closet a bit...Summer in one part, Winter in another...and Summer is color coordinated! I have way too many red tops...with coral and turquoise almost joining the too many..but none have stains or holes. I did gain a whole bunch of hangers!
Of course there is much more to be organized. Find a Grave "stuff", family history"stuff", photos on my computer...the list of "stuff" to be accomplished goes on and on.
Far Side
Super proud of you! We have been doing that, too. We are blessed to have an extra closet in the guest room where the not-this season clothes go. My main color is blue in my closet because it matches my eyes. I like a pastel pink, too but it has to have a blue base rather than a yellow one in the dyes used. It is fun and funny to discover the colors the dominate once we put them that way in the closet.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the organizing. The photos and genealogy stuff here is needing the most organization right now. Especially the photos.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't put much effort into Find a Grave until this past winter and then I made an effort to get things tidied up there. I still have some more to do but for me, it will have to wait until next winter.
ReplyDeleteGood for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting to the point where I need to get rid of some old, kind of raggedy clothes and actually buy something new. But my old stuff is comfortable.
I have been trying very hard to declutter recently. At the same time as getting lots of stuff out of storage.
ReplyDeleteYou are always making progress.
ReplyDeleteI’m a dud. My closets are stuffed. Three of them. I’m ashamed.
I need to go through a few closets in our house. I never have gotten the closet in the guest room so that it can close. I need to weed out stuff in there! (I know I have about 5 lamp shades I don't need....time to go!) I worked a bit on my sewing room last night and this morning. Both my desk and the overflow desk next to it are basically clear!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to get rid of things but you're doing it.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are making good progress on closet. Your comment about all the other things that need organizing reminds me of something I tell my daughter - the older I get, the more I have to do, so I'm never bored.
ReplyDeleteLike Linda I also need to find a few new things but when I went to look I did not like the things that are in the stores and the prices have somehow tripled from the last time I looked.
ReplyDeleteMy two daughters are organized way too much, probably because I'm a mess! I do donate but I'm way behind on the clutter!
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you are making great strides in organizing!
ReplyDeleteYou are sure getting very organized. I'm trying to be conscious of working with yarn I already have and not buying more unless it's for a particular project like a sweater that I don't have enough matching yarn for. My charity blankets and shawls are great for using up partial skeins. There is always more to be done and I don't know where all of this "stuff" has come from. In the last five years we've moved 5 times and I got rid of things each time. But the condo does seem full!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
I am always impressed by how much focused stuff you get done!!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to be organized also. I do well for a spell then I regress. I love your new crochet!
ReplyDeleteWhat is lupper? Love the crochet pattern. Thanks
