It is about time to make May Baskets.
I have the basket part made...working on the decorations....they will be an animal.
They can be as simple as a cup filled with candy...or flowers...whatever you like to surprise someone.
It is a tradition that I have been able to participate in for over 70 years.

We made it to Duluth and back again to visit with our daughter for her 54th birthday. It was a good day.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to have a good visit and back home safely. We always used to do May baskets. Our kids gave them too, but I don't hear of anyone exept you doing them now. I love that it's been 70 years. How fun!

ReplyDeleteThe 1st robin I saw here a couple weeks ago sounded really crabby, it was just before the big spring snow. But they are singing properly now.
I'd love to do this. I love making and giving surprises. However, it won't work well with my neighbors and most of us have gates and you can't get near the house. I did think about putting some Easter goodies out..but then scrapped that idea for the same reason! How neat that you've experienced this your whole life!
