A sign

There is a sign of Spring out there.

Can you see them?

How about now?  The Pussy willows!

Far Guy and I went out for a ride on Ranger Blue looking for Spring.  Other than deer in our yard, a couple  ducks down at the river and a chippy feeding on a deer carcass...the Pussy willows were our big find for the evening ride.

We made pizza for supper.  Far Guy putzed the day away.  I did some laundry and worked on the parts for May Baskets.

Minnesota weather: High 53F or 12C  Low was 39F or 4C.

  2. While you can see signs of our spring in my latest post, this morning I had about six geese fly over my head at an altitude of maybe 10 feet. I can't recall that ever happening before. They definitely are sure it is spring.

  3. Oh my - the pussy willows reminded me of my childhood. My mom always looked for those first ones in the spring and would cut a couple of branches to bring home and put into a vase for awhile.

  10. LD....I had four twigs suck in dirt from my pussy willow that I had taken down. They are all budding inside the house. We were up to 85 degrees to day.

  11. Our lilacs are out already in Virginia. Tulips are done and Peonies are already over 12 inches! Grass already has to be cut! Love watching everything bloom but I have developed such bad allergies that I can't even bring the blossoms inside anymore! Ugh

  12. Back in the 70's I rooted some pussy willows and planted them along our back fence. The bushes got pretty big and I would cut branches for our Easter tree centerpiece, hang eggs on them and try to root them. I seemed to lose my touch, the bushes got old and died and now we have no pussy willows. And I miss them.
I used to make pussy willow and forsythia bouquets for the kids to take to teachers? Do kids take bouquets to teachers anymore?

  13. I love the idea of May baskets. We are having Spring and lots of April showers. It has rained everyday for the past 5 days. Pizza sounds good. I haven't had pizza in a while..

  14. We've had the A/C on for the past two days! It was SO humid at 83% and 89 degrees. I couldn't stand it anymore. We did turn it off tonight and hopefully it will stay off for a few days or weeks.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy
