It was Thursday and Far Guy had his weekly infusion to protect his lungs. I ran errands; Wally World to pick up groceries, inside to another grocery store to get a few things that I wanted to pick out myself, Pharmacy, Post Office and the Bank. I was back in plenty of time to wait for Far Guy in the parking lot of the clinic. I didn't even get to play an entire solitaire game on my phone before he messaged me he was done.
We had a nap in the afternoon and didn't feel like cooking so we went to a place in town that we had not been to all Summer. Cheeseburgers and French Fries at Good Times. It is rumored that more businesses are closing for good on Main Street....most business are touristy ( assorted knick knacks, T shirts etc)...and many stores I have never been in...shopaholic or fashionista doesn't describe me.
Flower pots on Main Street have avoided the frost so far.
We are at 25 degrees this morning. But that is okay, it was time.
ReplyDeleteYum on going out to eat.
We are expecting our first fall heavy rains and wind for today and the weekend. Your weather sounds perfect, if a little chilly.
ReplyDeleteYou know I’m always curious, how far do you have to drive for the infusion? You are smart to combine the things you need to do with FG’s protection injection!
ReplyDelete14 miles
DeleteSounds like a very successful day.
ReplyDeleteGreat that you had time to shop and get your errands done!
ReplyDeletePrices are much too high everywhere...I'm thinking it's all about to do a re-set!

The flowers look lovely! Sounds like a lot was accomplished, including a good nap. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteCheeseburgers and French Fries at a small town eatery surrounded by others I know does indeed sound like Good Times.
ReplyDeleteWe had our first frost overnight. The plants survived it.So did I!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty flower pot arrangement. We've had some retail spaces downtown here that just can't seem to make it outside of tourist season. It's a shame and I miss a couple of those places myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm not one of 'those' either. Closets of clothes and rooms full of shoes is a nightmare to me
ReplyDeleteWow..the city flowers are so pretty. We don't really live in a tourist area other than men driving through on their way to the lake south of town, and men are only interested in how fast they can get out on the lake. Sad that many of the places in your area are closing.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty planter flowers! I am not into shopping or fashion either. My weekly grocery shopping is enough for me now.
ReplyDeleteNice to treat yourselves to a burger and fries once in a while. :) :)
ReplyDeleteTourist based businesses are a gamble.
ReplyDeleteHello! Look who's able to comment again! It's been good to follow along with you the past few weeks. We used to eat at Good Times for Taco Tuesday when we lived at our apartment at the Grand Reserve while waiting for a condo to go up for sale in the building we live in now. They have really good food.
ReplyDeleteThanks being there while I was offline. I love my blog friends.
Blessings,
Betsy
I hate to see shops/businesses in our small towns closing their doors. However, I can imaging they just can't compete with online opportunities, and tourism is off all over the country. Sad. Cheeseburgers and fries? Sounds like my kinda meal!
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are looking remarkably healthy considering it's almost the end of October.
ReplyDeleteSounds like tourism is down in your town. I'm a poet, and don't know it ;) Hope locals in your area continue to thrive regardless.
